I've not heard of any cases where crimes were committed with customized guns of this nature. I suppose, for one, they're not the cheapest option, and for another, pink guns don't blend in very well. Choosing a gun you can conceal easily seems like a much better plan than having one specially painted, which would require that you legally own it, spend quite a bit of money, and wait for the work, and then pretending it's a Super Soaker. Husband says cops have had to worry about whether guns are real or not since the 60's, when plastic toys started looking realistic, and that standard training is to treat anything that looks like a gun as a gun. People have been shot and killed because they were brandishing replicas at officers. People have also successfully committed crimes with replicas. In much the same way as all guns are always loaded, all items resembling guns *are* guns until proven otherwise. |
