elderly vitamin b 12 deficiency

anyone know anyone who had this which was found to have caused the elderly's dementia and balance issues??

Low VitB12 can cause balance issues and dementia........ but there are a lot of other side effects also. I suggest contact your Dr. , get some blood work and go from there.

Yes my grandmother was found to have this when I insisted we get her checked out for her dementia. She lived to be 96 and for at least 10 or so years didn't know anyone. The B-12 shots didn't help and she fought getting them because she didn't understand. Ends up it wasn't worth putting her through it.

My father was diagnosed with Parkinson's by one doctor and went to another later and that one thought he didn't have Parkinson's and his symptoms were at least partially due to b12 deficiency.. I think he's getting that now but the doctor has said it IS Parkinson's too. He's not 60 yet and has balance, shaking and other stuff (most disturbing to me is he makes noises like "mhmm mhmm" a lot). As far as I know, so far it's all physical, nothing mental.
