Unhappy If you know anyone who does/has done drugs please read!

I know, everybody has a story. Mine has just hit me all in the last few weeks.) DH and I moved to Alabama a couple of months ago; in hopes of adopting an 11 year old boy and possibly his 13 year old sister. It's where the system was going to tear them apart. We also, are fostering their 17 year old brother who at the time was going to join the Army but has since changed his mind. Well, after we all moved into our home, I find that there is another sibling in a hospital for depression and she is 16. On February 5th, I got a call that my 28 year old sister was killed and I needed to go to Florida right away, so..on valentine's day it was official; I now have the 16 year old sister and my 9 year old nephew. I am now a mother to 5 children who no longer have their biological Parents due to drugs! Drugs were related to all of this pain in some form!
I urged you all to be strong and show tough love if there is a loved one in your life that is connected to drugs in any way...It just leads to so much pain!
So, going threw this..I just wanted you to know that I was Thankful for having had you as a friend in my life.
Thank you for listening & being a friend,

WOW.

First of all, I'm so sorry about the loss of your sister. I can't imagine what that must be like. My prayers are with you.

Secondly, thank you SO much for stepping up to the plate for all of those children. You are amazing. And congratulations on your motherhood and family!

Most of my prayers will be for you, your sister, and your new family today.

D

Thank you for taking these kids in and loving them and giving them a good nurturing life.

Drugs have torn apart so many lives that I always just automatically assume it's drugs when I hear something these days.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I hope you're able to deal with that while starting a new journey with 5 kids.
And congratulations on taking these kids and offering them love and stability. I'm sure they're thankful to you also.

WOW!!! What a turn of events. Sorry to hear about all this tragedy in your life.

It's true....drugs are definitely not a good thing. Sadly, kids/adults don't even need to go to the "drug dealer on the corner" they can usually just hit up their parent's prescription stock.

DS recently got a Rx for Lortab. He only needed to take a few. Once he was pretty well over his pain, they got flushed. We don't need that in the house. Something for everyone to think about....go thru those medicine cabinets and throw stuff out.
