Right now I am catching up on laundry while the girls play in our latest 9 inches of snow! This weekend we all went rollerskating (it was our 1st DD's b-day party), and today we made brownies for tonight. We also watched "Meet the Robinsons" and had popcorn at home. No matter what's going on, we try to do it as a family. |

For the past couple months: on Saturday I clean the house and go grocery shopping. Saturday night is date night with DH. Sunday is laundry day and lounge around the house day. In the next few weeks spring soccer begins so Saturdays will entail DS's games and Sundays will entail DD's games. Although, she plays on a travel team and many of her spring touranment games are on Saturday and Sunday.

It's family time, even if it's just working out in the yard. We get everyone involved. Once the nice weather hits we'll start going out in the boat, fishing, etc. For now, we visit with friends, do things around the house, etc. I try to get all the housework and such done while everyone is at work or school. I, too, like to do that sort of thing (especially organizing things) and if I don't watch myself, I'll just do that, and everyone else will be off doing whatever. I like to do scrapbooking and stamping, so sometimes we do that, while DH and DS do something together.

Weekends are normally family time. Some of our favorites are board games, bowling, going to the beach to build sand castles, watching movies, going to the movies, family arcade, hiking the Cape Henlopen trails, bike rides, going to the Baltimore National Aquarium, and going to local festivals/fairs. On some weekends DH and myself go out on dates, and drop DS at a local drop in play center day care. He loves going there, he sometimes ask to go there just for fun, but at $10 an hour the answer is always no! Also, DH and DS go and do daddy and son bonding activities about twice a month for a few hours....normally they consist of Home Depot building workshop, fishing, going to a movie I don't want to see, Little Tike's paint ball days and both of their favorites go cart racing.

We have family time as others have mentioned and also alone time... I think that it is good for all of us to have some time to be alone and unwind. Our weekdays are packed. It is a good thing for kids to be able to enjoy being alone and not always stimulated by outside activities. My kids seem well-rounded and happy (ages 10 and 13) and so I feel that we are doing something right?!

It really depends on the weekend - sometimes there are dance competitions, soccer games - this saturday we went into the city to see A Chorus Line. On Sundays I really try to stay home - putter around - make a nice big dinner - sometimes sew or work on another hobby. That is what I did yesterday!

as little as possible! LOL! Friday nights are family movie night, Saturday nights are family game nights, During Football season we spend Saturday watching Football together! Sundays we just hang out........usually The kids friends come here, so I just include them in whatever we do.....Of course, you get things thrown in like b-day parties, sleepovers, errands that need to be run, etc. But I like spending time with my kids, and want to spend as much of it as I can, because I know pretty soon, the oldest ones aren't going to want to hang out with Mom! |

right now it's too cold out to enjoy the outdoors so we usually either eat out breakfast or lunch (it's our weekend thing). Then we usually hang out at home. The weekends is where my kids get their "screen time" like Wii and they Nintendo DS so they usually want to spend time playing those. We will play some games together or the kids play games by themselves or with each other. I catch up on my reading or odds and ends and DH plays computer games (he doesn't do that during the week). Lately, we have been working at my brother's new house. He bought a foreclosure and doesn't know how to do anything LOL So we've been painting, doing electrical and cleaning. One more project and we're done. DS has activities on Sat but that's done next Sat...thank goodness! Once the weather gets nice, we'll hang out outside, ride bikes, go to the park and have fun with the neighborhood

Friday nights Dh and I go out. Saturdays are family time. We also geocache, it's something our teens actually don't complain about having to do with us. Although, it's been being to cold lately. We ride atv's, that's fun cold, hot or in between. Saturday night normally oldest DS goes out with his friends. Then we got out and eat then come home for movie night. Sunday is cleaning day. Everybody does their part. After that's done we lounge the rest of the day. |

Clean, lounge. Sometimes go out, not a whole lot though. I hate not doing something, but I get so tired come Monday that I would rather just stay and home and work on the house, or just kick around.

Ahhhhhhhh the days of playdates and birthday parties...I remember those. Now that the kids are older, they pretty much want to go off with their friends. No time for the P's (parent's) anymore. DD is usually surfing the web or going to the mall. Oldest DS drives so he's out with friends at the movies, at his viola lesson, at ASYO, or some other music related activity. Youngest DS plays kick ball or airsoft with the kids in the hood. DH is usually watching sports. I just clean, do laundry, dumpster dive for coupons, enter sweepstakes, read, or sleep. We really don't do that much together as a family except to go out to eat once in awhile or play a game. ~Lisa
