Are you Brand Loyal??

I use to be extremely brand loyal but recently, I have switched two of my staples to a different brand.

First was my toilet paper, I use to always buy Cottonelle...but about 3 month ago I was at someones house and used their bathroom and loved their toilet paper so much that I went underneath the sink to find out the brand, only to be SURPRISED it was Charmin! I use to hate Charmin with a passion, so I was pleasantly surprised they changed their design to the new Diamond weave ultra strong.....its my new favorite! I knew it was a good change when DH asked if we had new toilet paper

Second one I still can't believe myself.....I have always been a Tide user for as long as I can remember. But when we went to Texas for Christmas my MIL did all of our laundry (which I loved) and it was so soft, CLEAN and smelled so good. So I asked her what kind of fabric softener she was using. Only to find out she no longer used Tide and Downy but has switched to Wisk, so I followed suit. I can't imagine going back to Tide, Wisk to me does a better job and more cost effective.

Then just recently I have switched from Country Crock to Brummel & Brown, I just think the Brummel and Brown tastes a lot better!

I normally am pretty brand loyal, so it has really surprised me that I have been recently switching my products. But now it has got me thinking what else is being offered out there in the market place that is possible better then what I am currently using! So I am thinking of trying other products, but I was always taught if it isn't broken don't fix it..........so if you are a brand loyal type of person what makes you stick with certain products.......and if you jump from product to product what are the benefits, and/or are you just picky and can't find the one that works best for you?

Good question ! I too, was a loyal Tide fan. Recently I switched to Arm and Hammer detergent. Forget the name, it came in a green bottle and I believe had baking soda. It did a great job and smelled nice !

I also switched dish detergents. Usually buy Electrosol, but lately I've been buying Cascade. I had a coupon, and I was tired of the whole little cake with a power ball features of Electrolsol.

Some things I am brand loyal (my female items) but others whatever is on sale and I have a coupon for is fair game. Due to skin problems I use All Small & Mighty free & clear.

Only w/ HP computers, Tide (b/c when I use it, it makes my clothes smell like my mom always used to), Kikkoman's soy sauce, Heinz ketchup and feminine products b/c the store brand ones are so not nice.

Otherwise, not at all. I use the cheapest toilet tissue from costco b/c frankly, I can't convince myself to pay extra for something that touches me for seconds and that I do NOT reuse, lol.

ETA: and Ban deodorant b/c any other kind makes me break out.

(I have found Charmin to leave a lot of lint)

I am totally Brand Loyal. I am so loyal I go to the same gas station, stores, whatever. I always buy the same brands I pay more for quality. I am very social. I develop a reltaionship with "my" places and people.

I almost get my feelings hurt when a Brand, store or whatevers "betrays" me.

I also know the difference between being loyal to a product simply because it works well and being loyal to a company that shares my ethics. And I am very aware of how "loyal" certain entities are to me and others are to just making a big profit regardless of the consequences.

Only with a few things.

I only like Diet Pepsi, not Diet Coke, unless I'm in a restaurant and that's all there is.

I'm also Mac loyal. If it ain't an Apple....it's crap.

I'm sure there's more, but it's all I can think of right now.

I am very brand loyal as well.

Toilet paper- Charmin plus with lotion. It's the best when you have a tummy bug and your bottom is sore lol.

Puffs Plus with lotion- Great when you have a cold and your nose is chapped and sore.

Dial antibacterial hand soap with lotion- See a trend here lol. I wash my hands alot and they were always dry and cracking until I switched hand soaps.

Aveeno non scented hand lotion and body wash- Only thing my DH will use he has sensitive skin.
Biolage Shampoo and Conditioner
Herbal Essence hairspray
Dove deoderant
Dior Makeup

Hellmans mayo
Heinz Ketchup
Land O Lakes butter
Country Croock margerine
Wonder bread for Sandwiches and toast
Martins Potatoe bread hamburger buns
Tide, Downey and Clorox for Laundry- Only April Fresh downey too, My grandma used this combo and it reminds me of when I was little. I used to love to smell the clothes washed at grandmas house.
Dawn Dishsoap
I am brand loyal with animal food and products as well.

I could think of a bunch more but my list is getting pretty long so i'll stop there.

For me, whatever is cheapest, on sale, or I have a coupon making it comparable, I buy. But, for picky, picky DH, some brands are MUST HAVES

This funny to me, because my Best Friend and I were just discussing the changes that Charmin has made.....

We swtiched to Charmin a few months ago, and won't switch back to Cottenelle
All Free & Clear for DS
Aveeno Creams
Orville Redenbacher Popcorn
Diet Coke w/ Splenda
A1 steaksauce
Secret Deodarant
Cascade for the Dishwasher, Dawn for the sink
Shout
Neosporin
and quite a few other things I'm brand loyal too, some has to do with habit, and others have to do with allergies.......

I have found just the opposite. We've used Charmin for years but since the soft or strong change, we do not like the soft now. I've been told by a friend that heard this from her plumber, not to use the red pkg. Charmin as it can clog the pipes. Now the blue pkg. is too soft and I'm looking for a new brand. So far I've tried White Cloud and it's not soft at all. It's a major inconvenience to find a new brand.

Heinz Ketchup
All free & clear and unscented Bounce due to allergies
Diet Coke
Hiland skim plus milk
Redenbacher movie theater butter popcorn

I am brand loyal to very few things. I usually buy the cheapest but not for Reynolds Plastic Wrap. I will pay extra for it. I also mostly buy Charmin because it comes in the giant roll and since most of the people in my family can't figure out how to replace the roll this one last a long, long time. LOL

Heinz ketchup might be the only brand that I am 100% faithful to. Oh, and Miracle Whip (but not sure that one even has competition). I am brand loyal to name brands though, and will pay more for them over store brands or off brands like the Dollar Stores carry....

I will not buy certain things ever again... sort of the opposite of brand loyalty -- after purchasing, have found particular products to be low quality (ie Bumblebee Tuna).

Otherwise, low price wins out every time and often the Kirkland Brand found at Costco is my choice (ie dog food, toilet paper, etc.).

I am brand loyal to Westsoy Lowfat Plain Soy Milk - thankfully Walmart carries this! Will never buy any other after trying all of them and comparing flavor and nutrition facts.

It's funny you mention Kirkland brands. I forgot that's the only coffee I'll drink. We have a BJ's right around the corner now, and I still have to either make a special trip to Costco to stock up or ask someone I know that's going. I've tried all other coffee brands but I still keep coming back to the Kirkland. The only thing that comes vaguely close in an emergency (LOL) is Starbucks.

I gotta have my hellmans.

I use to be more brand loyal but now I am more loyal to some of the store brands like 365 at whole foods or Trader Joes. I won't buy name brand soft drinks only 365 because they have no corn syrup or other dubious ingredients. We are trying to get away from overly processed foods. If you look at the major food brands they are filled with garbage I don't want going into my family. I will buy Newmans' own brand but thats about it.

I like the Target brand feminine products(pads) just as much as the regular name brands if not more. They aren't overly perfumed.

I'm brand loyal to a few things:

Heinz Ketchup
Kraft Mac and Cheese
Miracle Whip
Dove deodorant-this is for allergy reasons. No amount of savings is worth another bout of itchy underarm rash!

I now have in my storage room
every kind of toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, toothbrushes, laundry soap, furniture polish, storage bags etc..etc..
in my pantry I have almost every brand of cereal, snacks ..etc..
I have a coupon and I can get it for pennies which I normally do if not for free.. I get it. Now there are some things I prefer over others. We almost always have brand name in everything because with coupons and sales I can get it cheaper then any store brand. On a rare occasion if I run out of something and can't get it on sale I will get a store brand just till I can stock up again.
My girls love Herbal Essences shampoo/ and conditioner. They know when I get it on slae I will stock up and they are thrilled, but also know not to count on it being there again till I am getting it for less then .25 cents a bottle.
I have max amounts I will pay for everything most shampoo I will not pay anything for because I can always get it free. I will spring the .25 cents for this one for the girls.

Did it work??? cause DS tends to have very dry skin during the winter months, I normally just lotion him up after his baths or before he gets dressed in the morning.

I would say that it has helped both of them - and at a minimum, it hasn't hurt! My boys were resistant to the lotion, because sometimes their skin was so bad that lotion would sting. I think the unscented Dove helped their skin get moisturized so that they could actually start using lotion more often....so it seems to have worked out well.

Since Charmin changed the quality of the blue pkg I have been trying out new TP's. I bought Scott today and it didn't even make it onto the roll. It reminded me of the TP in public restrooms. Very, very thin and not very soft.
Trying to find a new brand of TP is very expensive.

There are a few things I am brand loyal to. Peanut Butter has to be Jof. And toilet paper has to be charmin. Bread has to be Merita, and cheese has to be Velveeta.

I NEVER EVER thought I would buy anything but Heinz ketchup - and I am a ketchup lover - but I bought a bottle of Hunt's for $1 for their rebate last year, and seriously, either they have changed their formula, or my tastebuds have gotten too old to know any better. Now I buy Hunt's because it is so much cheaper - but I never would have believed it a few years ago.

I will try almost anything once to get a cheaper price.
My DH bought BJ's brand of q-tips. OOOO what a mistake. Many of the sticks were broken and there was a minimum of cotton on the end. Then I tried out CVS brand thinking they looked the same so maybe..... Well, no! There is so little cotton on the ends! We will finish up this huge box, ugh and then Q-tips or Nothing!!!!
