so we'll have to bribe this generation to do something what will they have to do to the next generation to get them to do good. and the parents that dont want to bribe their kids, their kids are made to feel like crud cause the parents dont want to go along with this game. We've never bribed our kids to do anything. good grades are expected, ok you got a C this semester you need to get that better next time cause we know your capable of it. my 9 year old has been on honor roll except a couple times in 3rd grade shouldnt have to bribe him when we know he's able to do it,

I totally disagree with paying for grades. I have always told my kids that their reward is the feeling of accomplishment and pride that comes from putting out the effort to do well. They should get good grades because it's the right thing to do. They will be rewarded in the end for their good grades with a highschool diploma and hopefully a college degree and then hopefully a good job they enjoy. Paying for doing well on the standardized tests sounds totally selfish for the school. They aren't doing it to help the kids, they're doing it for their own gain. peapie |

Carrie, I'm glad your back, I haven't seen you post in a LONG time! Now, I like the paying for grades. It makes students work harder for their grades which is not unlike the real world where you are paid incentives for working hard at your job. I think this will benefit those kids most, who need the money, COULD be doing better than they are, and just need an extra push. |
