I'm in southern Indiana and I am so sick of winter I could SCREAM! Well at least this is just snow - not ice like the 2 times we have had that this winter. I'm just ready for warm weather, flowers to come up, etc. Winter has just seemed so brutal this year. And being sick for half of it hasn't helped matters!

They already closed school here (western Kentucky) and it hasn't even started yet. The wind is blowing like crazy. I headed to the store to stock up.

This is crazy weather. Our forecast for the next week starts at 30 and ends up at 61. This last weekend we were out doing yard work, even went and had a picnic at the lake. I need the sunshine!

Well, now our totals are going up.....we could see 20+ inches by Sunday morning. I just hope I make it home from work tonight!! My boss went out for coffee a half hour ago and said the roads are very slippery already. Of course the crap town I work in doesn't know HOW to take care of the roads....the streets dept (or lack thereof) was the reason for my accident last January on a bridge where people thought I was going right over the side. (jerks couldn't see that the weather conditions were perfect for black ice and did NOTHING )

Stay safe and warm everyone!

I am in Indianapolis and we are only supposed to get 3-5 inches. I want more!!! We really have not gotten a good storm this year. I like one big storm a year! We just keep getting little tiny amounts.
We were supposed to travel to Ohio for a soccer tournament in Dayton, but it got cancelled when the blizzard warning went up.

Send us some snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I sound like an odd duck here, but I am so jealous!!! I live in Alabama, and couldn't tell you the last time we had snow. At least 9 years or so. And our summers are treacherous!!! But even here, (I am so excited), the wind is whipping and it is freezing! I am hot natured so this is grand!! Can eat cold weather food too!!!

I am in northern KY and I guess we have about 10 inches.
We slept in and just now finshed a big breakfast.
We are going to go out in the snow and take pictures whilie it is still undisturbed and the we will play in it!! Even in your sixties you can still have fun in the snow.
Yesterday was not so fun when we slipped and fishtailed for 1/4 mile down the expressway, slid off the road, spun around and hit a tree with the back end of the van and broke out the whole back window, turned around and went head first down a small hill taking out some small (very small) trees, until we were finally stopped by a wire fence! We were not hurt, air bags didn't even kick on.

JM thank god you were all ok!! That is scary!
SO plows snow and has been out since yesterday. They slept in the shop this morning and will be at it most of the day and night!! Our service department called that they are out of salt so who knows what will happen with our roads.
The sad part is it is going to be in the 50's by Wednesay here and that means FLOODING ALL OVER my city!

Here in Erie, PA we got about 12 inches since Friday morning. Thank goodness it stopped snowing this morning!

I'm no fan of snow but I'll take snow over ICE any day. We had a nasty ice storm on Tuesday night-spending 45 minutes scraping the car at 5 am is not fun(it took that long even with the heat in the car on-I had about 1/4 inch of ice over the entire car).

At least teh snow we got is just regular, light weight snow. None of that wet, heavy stuff that makes power lines/roofs/tree branches come crashing down. Shoveling out shouldn't be that bad, but I'm not planning on even trying until tomorrow. I don't have to be at work until Monday morning so hibernating this weekend is fine with me!

I am glad that you were not hurt.

ballmom,
Yes , it is beautiful the first day and then it gets dirty looking from the traffic.
Black dirty snow along the roads is not pretty. Neither are those piles in the parking lots!

I was riding, with DH driving.
I had a whole 'flock' of angels around me because I was in a 'blanket' of calm, which is NOT like me at all! I was even mentally preparing to roll which we were never in any danger of doing, but my angels were keeping me calm for whatever might have hapenned. As soon as we stopped, I picked up my cell phone and called 911, without missing a beat. I am normally a very nervous and panicky person so I KNOW I had help thru that!
