Big News!

I'm pregnant!!!!
Yep, pregnant at age 45!
It was a big surprise. I thought I was beginning menopause!

This will be my third child. My oldest is 11 and my youngest is turning 10 this month. This is a second marriage for me. My DH(48) and I have been married for5 years. This will be his first child.I was afraid to tell him, not sure how he would react... but he smiled a big smile and his eyes lit up!

So, I am asking my MC friends for some prayers for a healthy baby. At my age the risks raise substantially. But I am so optimistic!

I am just thrilled!!!!

Welcome to the club :-) I am quite happy for you! Do your older kids know yet? We had our first when my DSD was 10, she was so excited to have a "baby" to play with (and was a big help). How far along are you? When you are due? This sounds like it was a wonderful surprise.

Yes, we told the kids a couple of days ago. My DD is the youngest (turning 10) and she is so excited!!! DS is still not sure how he feels about it. He is concerned about it maybe not being healthy.
My due date is Oct. 29. I'm just in my 6th week. And yes, it was a wonderful surprise!

My baby was born Oct 29 She's 16mo or so now, with a sister that's about to turn 7 and a 9 year old brother.. they love to play with her! I'm really glad I didn't have them all close together in age... I don't know how anyone survives that lol

That last pregnancy was much rougher on me than the other two, though I didn't have any morning sickness. It was so hard to walk and had the incontinence issue though oddly that was more in the middle than at the end. Hopefully your older kids will take care of you and let you rest when you need! I wasn't so sure I wanted a 3rd at the time but I wouldn't trade her for the world now.

That is wonderful news! I hope that you have an easy pregnancy and healthy, happy baby. I'm sure that your son will get over his worries as he sees the bump growing.

Take care of yourself and make sure that they spoil you for the next 7 1/2 months!

What wonderful news! Much happiness to you and your family.

My mom was 40 when she had me (back in 1954), my sister and brother are 12 and 9 years older than me. My sister is and has always been my best friend even with the difference in ages.
My mom always said having me later in life was so much fun.

Oh what a wonderous joy! My heartiest congratulations to your and your family. I completely understand your concerns, I had my baby when I was 39. The wait between the amnio and results was so long, but the day I got the results was one of the best days of my life.

That is FANTASTIC!!! You are going to just adore that baby! I had my angel boy when I was 39. My daughters are 21 and 18!!! Huge age difference! But they are such a help! Our family just loves that baby! It is worlds better when you are older. I can't really explain it, but it's just great!! Congrats!!!!

congrats!!! my mom had her last when she turned 40 and she said it was the best thing that has happened to her. Only downfall with her was it threw her system in to menopause right after and she had a tough time with that. Her labor was really really long and hard too, but it is all worth it in the end.

Congratulations!! We "got" our sweet Faith when she was 5 and half months old and I was 40 and DH 42. She isn't biologically ours, but I can tell you she is the light of our life. Being parents at 40 is way more fun than it was at 20 for some reason. She's 20 months now and my little buddy and makes me laugh every day, a LOT!!! lol It's going to be awesome, I'm so excited for you!!!!
