Customer Service *scratch your head moments*

I have enjoyed the drive thru scrath your head moments and had to laugh when I had a customer service moment this morning...the first thing I thought...was that I had to ocme here and post...

I have a Kenmore dryer that is 3 years old and was having issues with it last night and this morning. I called Sears hoping that someone in the appliance area could give me some trouble-shooting tips. Once I got connected to the appliance area (keep in mind...where they sell appliances)...the sales lady got on the phone and listened as I told her of my problem...she then told me that I am mistaken...Kenmore doesn't do dryers, I must be thinking of the wrong thing. I am thinking...wow, it says Kenmore on the dryer that I am staring at. I waited for her to finish telling me I am wrong and asked to speak with the manager of the appliance area. I went through my speal with him, and he told me some ideas to fix it...cross your fingers that it works!

I just had to post here.

Good luck with Sears. Our Kenmore fridge was defective it took me almost a year to get a refund. A yeat that consisted of missed sevice appts, tons of phone calls, service people that either did not know what was wrong, knew it was a factory defect but were afraid to authorize a replacement, and countless managers, etc. Finally I got my refund and an $800 check for my wasted time. Because of that one lady and that check I still shop at Sears but I would NEVER buy anything electrical, electronic, or anything that might break or require service.

I agree with the statement "Good luck with Sears". Sears doesn't know what customer service is. I boycotted them a few years ago and buy nothing from them.

As a matter of fact, I honestly don't believe "Customer Service" is available anywhere anymore, is it?

'SEARS AND GO BACK" as my dh refers to it.
We have never had luck with their appliances.

Maybe less scratch your head and more frustration... When you have to Press 1 for this and Press 2 for that and then plug in your acct number, and last 4 digits of your social etc, etc...and what is the first thing they ask you...the exact same information after you have been plugging in a million numbers and been on hold 30 minutes....only to finally get a live person who is from India and you can't understand a word they say!

Well, I have to disagree a little bit... I was just in Sear's a little while ago and while this has absolutely nothing to do with appliances, it does have to do with customer service. My son had an appointment with the optomotrist, so we walked through Sear's to reach the doctor's office. While we were going through there, I noticed a clearance rack. There were multiple yard items on there - Miracle Grow in different types of things that you attach to the hose, plus hornet killer, ant bait, slug bait, etc. We've just purchased a lake house that hasn't been well-maintained, so this looked like a good stop for me. The Miracle Grow was market $5.97 and 6.97, ant bait was .97, slug bait was $6.97. All I got was the Miracle Grow, but it rang up at $2.97. What a deal! So, my son got me a few more and we went on to his appt. We stopped back by there on our way out and got a few more. That's when she told me that the ant bait was ringing up at .75, so I threw in a few of those (never know when you might need to get rid of some ants) and I got a package of slug bait. Now, the slug bait didn't come up with a price. Instead of ringing it up at $6.97, which it was marked at on the rack, she said she'd give it to me at $2.97. She said it didn't make sense that the others would all be marked down more and that one wouldn't, as well. She certainly didn't have to do that. Anyway, long story, but I was surprised that I got better than average service at Sear's....

We always buy Kenmore. We love them and haven't had any issues with any of them.

Had one today. My son broke the hinge my other son's Nintendo DS. I called the 800 number about a repair. I got Customer Service for Cabella's. (I realized later I was just 1 number off)
I said "Oh, is this the number for Nintendo too".
She said "No, this is Cabellas, but do you want to order one from us?"
I said "I didn't realize you carry Nintendo's".
She said "we don't".
I almost said "Well yes, I would love to order one from you. How much is the cost and shipping on a item you don't sell?"
I hate thinking up good things to say too late!
