Thumbs up I am truly amazed!!!!

Well guys, I did it. I had my head shaved today. And they shaved it really close, like so close my head is shiny! I feel like an alien....Ok, I look like an alien. But what I am so amazed by, is when I read the list of ppl who donated on my head-a LOT of names came from the Cafe and other members of My Coupons--ppl I have never met in person, and in all reality, will probably never meet. I am just so overwhelmed by the support. So the next time someone complains about how no one responds to their posts, or how vindictive other ppl are to their posts, and how nasty ppl are on these boards----I just can't wait to tell them all to go to h*ll! We've got a good thing going on here! And I feel so blessed to be a part of it. I have not swapped out my pic yet, to my "after" look. I am waiting for the checks I received to reflect in my balance. One of Pat's friend's father sent me a $1000 check yesterday-I was so floored!! But really, I am amazed at every penny sent. Ok, so as of now, I am about to break the $3000 mark-how cool is that? Thanks guys! Lynne

Thought I was the only one who knew about this!

The medical students shaved their heads for St. Baldrick's Day here. I volunteered myself to bring my massage chair and take tips to be donated directly to the Tulane Hospital for Children here in New Orleans. But once I told the other girls at work what I was doing, the hairdresser volunteered to do some shaving and the owner and one of the other massage therapists volunteered to bring the other massage chair and donate all of their tips also!

Our hairdresser wound up being only 1 of 7 hairdresers cutting and she shaved close to 35 heads. We didn't do too bad massaging. We didn't set a price, just whatever they could donate. We raised $352 that will stay in the hospital and will help build a "boundless playground" so the kids with wheelchairs will have a place where they can play also.

I kinda did it for selfish reasons though. I've been feeling kinda down and blue lately and thought that volunteering would put some pep in my step. And it has!

Congrats on your newly shaved head!

*Something funny: Once the people got finished shaving their heads they would come over and say, "Is it a weird request to ask you to rub my head the whole time?" And they LOVED it!
