Smile What are you reading?????

I just finished "7th Heaven" by James Patterson -- and it was pretty good. I would recommend it.

Another book I read this week was "Made From Scratch" by Sandra Lee. She the host of Semi-Homemade on the Foodnetwork. She has had a very hard life and a somewhat interesting life. I would recommend the book.

So, what are reading????

Just finished whatever Magadelena Portulaca Yoder book was about the winery that was going to be built in Hernia, am now started on whatever the title is of the book w/her about curry. Also just finished the Cat Who book about Qwill's beloved going to France.
Can't handle anything other than very, very light and humorous mysteries lately, though I'd love to have the grey matter to be able to read the latest Patterson book, love him.

Yeah a book thread!

I am working on Janet Evanovich's Plum Lucky. I caught up and read all 13 and the in between ones within the last month and I am so HOOKED on these books, they are awesome! Whoever recommended them should come over and clean my house because I have been too busy reading and I am really slacking lately! Anyone who hasn't read them from the beginning should, they're a lot of fun.

I also started A New Earth but it's a slower read, you have to actually think about what you're reading so I try to read it when I'm alone after everyone goes to bed.

I am reading "A Travel Guide to Heaven" which I am really enjoying.

Ever since the passing of my dad, I've been very interested in, and have received a great deal of comfort from books like this.

I am reading Cell by Stephen King.

I finished Duma Key by Stephen King and Confessor by Terry Goodkind last weekend.

I loved the Stephanie Plum series. I had heard rumors they were making a movie. I guess it hasn't panned out.

I just finished "Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral". It was good, a mindless read. Right now I've started "Shopaholic and Baby". I love these Shopaholic books. I read somewhere they are making a movie of the Shopaholic books.

How was Duma Key? I keep picking it up in the bookstore, but right now it's money I don't need to spend. Guess I'll wait until it comes out in paperback.

Toonces-
I thought it was a good read. It wasn't "scary" but it was twisted (for the lack of a better word)
Maybe you can borrow it from the local library.

Cell, otoh, is very gory.

Baby Shark by Robert Fate. Sort of a mystery but very very realistic. Not the type of book I usually like, I'm more into Evanovich but I loved it.

BTW, wanted to thank again whoever recommended Rhett Butler's People, loved it too!!

I just finished "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. Very good read. But it's a book that to get the most out of it, some parts have to be read slowly so as to comprehend them. Or maybe I'm just really dense. Overall, I highly recommend it.

My sister just told me about this book this past week, she said it's her favorite of all time. They just came out with a sequel I think? I saw it in Target.

I just read "The Gift" and "The Christmas Box". Both very touching and very good and short. You can read each in two hours.

I just finished THE CHOICE by Nicholas Sparks. It was a good read, kinda made me sad too. Now I've started on INVASION by Robin Cook. I just got into reading his books and this is about the 4th or 5th one of his I've read. Next on my list is Ceremony in Death by JD Robb. I read one of hers and had to start reading them all from the beginning.

Just finished "Tweak" by Nic Sheff, and "Beautiful Boy" by his father, David. Really intense, but very good.

Am reading Sophie Kinsella's new book now, "Remember Me". Just started, but cute and light.

Loved "The Appeal" by John Grisham. "Manic" by Terry Cheney was very well-written, really informative.

And for kids, there is a second "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" out. My 2 youngest loved both of these books, and I've yet to come across any of their friends who didn't love them!

I read that a few months ago. It was so interesting. And horrifying as well!

I'm reading "Her Last Death" by Susannah Sonnenberg. It's a bit like "Running with Scissors."

I really liked "Her Last Death"! Good reading for anyone, but particularly if you have experienced an, um, stressful relationship with your mother.

How do you like it?

I just finished two, one a harder read for me, A Walk in the Woods...a true tale about an out of shape middle age man who decided to walk the Appilacain Trail...intresting, funny, and grown up...

After I read that and intisted me and my husband trade books I took on, An Innocent Man, by Grissim. For someone (me) that is pro death penalty - it brought up some VERY interesting points..a true story that really makes you wonder about the justice system.

I am much more of a fiction reader...but these were both good books!

Actually, Janet Evanovich does write pretty fast. Her newest book "Fearless Fourteen" is due out on June 17th. We are taking reservations on it at the library already. I'm number 11th on the hold list. I'm sure we'll get at least that many copies. Fun!!

I LOVED page 88 in Plum Lucky. If you've read the book, you should know what I'm talking about. I was laughing so hard visualizing Lula.

I just skipped ahead and read it! I just love her books, there aren't many that you laugh out loud when you read them, but usually at least once per book they get a laugh out of me.

I keep looking at the new Dean Koontz book, and I can't get myself to buy it, even though I'm sure I'd love it. I should get it at the library and I forget, maybe that's on a waiting list too.

Yes, she has one of the number books come out every June and then a shorter one (like Plumb Lucky) for each holiday season.
I know that 2 a year is good, but I just want more, LOL. I love the humor and often laugh out loud.

I also like Catherine Coulters FBI series.

Just went to the library last night and filled up my bag!!! This morning I read "Confessions of a Teen Sleuth" It is hilarious! It's the "true" story of Nancy Drew in her grown up years. I am just opening "Repositioning Yourself" by Bishop TD Jakes. When he speaks he is very inspiriing and he has done much to help people reconsider their lives.

I agree with all of this post !!

I took out Rhett Butler's People at the library and both my mom and I read it. Great book. Last year I "discovered" the Evanovich Plum series. OMG, they are hilarious and just a great whimsical read. I read all the books and just couldn't get enough of them !!

Right now I have started reading the Patricia Cornwell Kay Scarpetta series. I just finished the fourth one the other day.

I finished My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult - very good, I couldn't put it down.

I am now reading an old one - A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. It's ok, but a little hard to get into knowing it's not real like it supposedly was.

I am reading "Remember Me" too. Haven't gotten very far yet, but I do love her books!
