I will make baskets for DS and DD. They are 10 and 13. I will probably continue to make them for them until they graduate HS.

I still hide eggs too. I don't put much candy in their baskets. I put it in the plastic eggs. I also put money in the eggs.

My son is also older (age 25), and he still gets a basket. Plus, now I also make one for each of the grandchildren!

Just this year my 11 and 12 year old said I should tell the Easter Bunny that he (meaning me) didn't need to hide eggs or give them a basket. They would be happy to just get money. lol Since I didn't want them to have a bunch of candy it sounded like a great idea. I still will make small baskets for all 3 of my children 11,12, and 21 plus the oldests girlfriend but they will be small.

19 and 23 here, and sometimes it is still a basket or occasionally just a small gift, and it isn't always filled with candy since they want to diet, but filled with little items that I would put in a stocking at Christmas.

My kids are now 16, 14, and 12. I was just thinking about this. When do I stop? Should I stop this year? No...It just wouldn't seem like Easter without me fixing them up a basket. Instead of all the candy and little toys, I'll just get them some $5 gift cards to Starbucks, Blockbuster...my daughter likes the teen magazines...oldest son likes 5 gum...so I'll get a big pack of that at Costco for him...youngest son needs some socks...although he'll hate it, maybe them! They all still have their favorite candy...Oldest likes sour stuff...DD likes Nestle Crunch...so probably a Crunch bunny...As I've said before, if you have little kids, enjoy it now!...Before you know it they'll be all grown up! It was so much fun when they were younger. But I guess I can look forward to grandkids...not anytime soon of course, but maybe in ten years or so! ~Lisa

I'm 48 and I still get an Easter basket from my parents.

My son is 17 and he doesn't care much for candy, so what I do is hide 10-12 plastic eggs inside the house with a number inside each one. The numbers correspond to a specific "prize" that includes iTunes cards, sweatshirts, Starbucks Cards, etc., and this year I also bought a cross pendant from a jewelry party. The difficulty of finding particular eggs corresponds to the value of that number prize. He still loves it, and I don't think I will ever stop doing something for him on Easter. It's my favorite holiday and he's my only baby!

I stopped when my 18 yr old son moved LOL. I still send money and candy for Easter, Valentine's Day, etc. They are never too old in my opinion. If my son was visiting or I was visiting him at Easter I would make him a basket. He's 24.

When he is marrried I will make baskets for him and his wife when I send the ones for the grandkids.

This is a good topic. My one and only son is 19. After reading this, I think I will do something for him. He has Asperger's so he is still a little immature anyway.

i am mailing our dd hers tomorrow. she is away in college. when I was 24 yrs old, my dad still made me a easter basket. that year, he died a few days before easter.( he was 50 yrs old) my mom gave me the basket he had already fixed for me. i got a pair of ruby earrings, a gold chain with a diamond cross and 50.00. plus alot of choc. I am wearing the chain now and the earrings are in the jewerly box. the chain has not been off my neck since i got it. that was in 1984. I guess if he was still living, i would still be getting a easter basket from him.

Still doing it. Youngest is 10, oldest 21, and two teens between. Baskets are usually a bit of their favorite candies, then a few little things, i.e. a DVD, book.

When the kids were younger, I started filling eggs with money for each child, usually 10 eggs each, with amounts from a few quarters up to $10. When they went to sleep, I hid each child's 10 eggs all over their bedrooms to hunt for when they woke in the morning. This way they all had fun, we got a little extra sleep, and all was peaceful. When we tried having big hunts with all the kids together, the little ones were at a big disadvantage, so this was better.

I did it last year, but not sure if I'm doing it anymore. Waiting for the older guys to fall asleep is brutal!!

Mine are 10 and 13. I do not do them anymore... I'm surprised that I'm the only one!

They earn money for doing their chores and when they earn enough, they can buy whatever they want.

Do we have to stop?? LOL! We have a 4yo, 10yo & 13yo and we still do baskets. We have never put a lot in them, though. They always get a small hollow chocolate bunny, some jelly beans, some of their favorite candy and maybe a little something else if I come across it. We still color hard boiled eggs and hide those along with some plastic eggs for them to find.
My mom never stopped giving us gifts at Easter, Valentine's, etc...it just got smaller...usually just a few pieces of candy and maybe a card...she passed away in 2006, though, so no more for me.
I also usually get my DH one candy item that I set out with the kids baskets.

Wow, I guess I'm a nerd all the way! My daighters are 18 and 21, and a precious baby boy that is 17 months old! So the girls still get baskets!! Probably always will. We also still colored Easter eggs long after they quit hunting them. But this year we are ALL looking forward to doing it for the baby!

I have 2-17yr olds, and 2 - 20 yr olds....... no more baskets here....I do get them a small solid bunny for Easter~

The price of candy these days and not to mention dentist. I do not think they really need any. But we do buy for the little ones in the extended family and for our favorite little 2 yr old, My husband's best friends daughter!

In June I will be a first time GRANNY, so next year we will do baskets

Plus we are coloring eggs in school this week, I think with 11 multiple handicap kids , that is enough of coloring eggs for one year...lol

We do have a incubator with baby chick eggs coming today , so the kids can take care of them and watch them hatch. Then back to the farm they go.

I make one up for my parents
I make one up for my inlaws
I make one up for my hubby and kids (3 and 7 mos)

My inlaws make one up for my husband
My parents just give us "dinner and a movie" cause they enjoy having the kids for a few hours during the weekends.

God bless Target for their 90% off sales because that's when I stock up on baskets!!
