Talking Need a laugh? Funny Kids Names!

Our local news had a story about this and I thought ya'll might get a giggle too.

Here's the story:
There's a new book out called "Bad Baby Names: The Worst True Names Parents Saddled Their Kids With, and You Can Too!"

Throughout history, people have named their children truly terrible things, and this book has the proof. Michael Sherrod and Matthew Rayback combed through U.S. federal census records to find the absolute worst names parents have given their children.

Here are some of the names they found: Fanny Pack, Ima Hooker, Fanny Whiffer, Post Office, Warren Peace, Nice Carr, Tiny Hooker, Al Caholic, Anita Bath and Maya Buttreeks.

OH MY!
but kinda funny too!

I knew someone named Besty B. Goode.

And I saw a kid on TV named Mickey McMick . I'm guessing the first name was just a nickname. I hope so anyway.

I work at a doctor's office and we recently had a little girl come in. As the nurse, we bring in the patients but we all consulted on this little girl's name because we could't believe that anyone would name their child this but it was no mistake. Her name sounded like Ashley but it was spelled....A**hole...like if you would say it ash sholee. Very, very sad indeed.

Years ago I knew a guy named Harry Katz.
Went to school with Rainey Gates.
My friends last name is Grundy. (short u sound). They joked about naming their daughter after her grandma Ineda. (long I sound) She would be named Ineda Grundy if they did that!
I asked what it was like in school with a name like Grundy. He said he did get teased about it a lot, but he would tell the kids to be careful because they never had a grundy until they got a grundy from a Grundy!!

28 years ago I worked in our local hospital as a ward clerk on the maternity floor. One of my jobs was to do the paper work on birth certificates.

A very young couple had delivered their first child - a son - the day before so I gave the mom the form to fill out and in the line for the babies first and middle name she wrote ELVIS PRESLEY. I remarked on how unusual that was and the mom kept saying that her husband had always wanted a son named after "the King". Sad but true story.

My son went to school with a boy named Elvis King.
I'm with linnyboy on not knowing what a grundy is either. Perhaps it's regional?? Help us out on that one.

OMG! The day I took my dd home from the hospital, some of the nurses were gathered talking as I was trying to finish up some paperwork. Since I had spent 5 days on the floor and 1 of the nurses was a friend's mom, I asked what was going on and they said that someone had just named their kid "A**hole", but they pronounced it "Ash-o-lee"!!!

It makes me sad to think that more than one parent thought of this.

Also, I've heard of parents naming a child "Sh*t head" and they pronounced it "she-taad". Some people

We have a *Christmas-y* last name. When we adopted one of our daughters we were told her name was *Mary*. When she came home her name was spelled on all her paprework M-e-r-r-y. I'm really into names, have named all my kids names they can live up to and I thought *Merry* was a great name.
That is, until dd had to spend her first week in the country in the hospital and we were heard more *Merry Christmas XXXXX* jokes than I can count.
We changed her first name tout de suite! ;-)

I have posted this before, but my last name is Byrne - pronounced Burn. My FIL is Richard, goed by Dick. Yep Dick Byrne. When he was in the military at one point he was Major Dick Byrne and that is what he goes by! My Nephew is Colin Richard, but my husband always yells. Calling Dick Byrne!

Some people should really not be allowed to name kids, we have a Cinderella at school, and in the next town there is a Tylenol, Formica, and Mylanta! WOW
