I voted T-ball...just trying ot put myself in your shoes, this is the route we would probably take, one reason being to keep my child in with his class mates and the easier pace of T-ball. I do see your point about getting more time in game with Baseball though, and that would have to come into play. Have you asked your son what he wants to do? He may bring up points that you haven't thought of.

I just talked to him about it and he said he would rather be with the kids in his class. I can't blame him, there are a lot of 2nd graders and 1st on the rookies and I don't want them to think of him as the little kid, or make fun of him if he messes up because he's the only kindergartener.

If he was my child I would leave him in T-ball as long as he is eligible by age. He would probably have more fun playing with his friends and it would give him an extra year to work on his skills before moving up to the next level. He might feel inadequate if his skills are not up to the older kids level, it could be more frustrating for him than fun. Just my opinion.

Look into the rules for playing in your area - in ours it is set by birth dates - they can always play up - but never down - it doesn't make sense that he would be with the second graders - unless he has a late birthday - if this is the case - he may always have to play with this age group due to his date of birth -- year of school doesn't matter.

We decided to let him do the tee ball again. After tee ball when he's in 1st grade he would have gone to rookies those teams are 1st and 2nd graders. Because he is repeating kindergarten he isn't with the first graders anymore so we would rather have him with his classmates. He started kindergarten when he was 4, his birthday was in September, so he was young.
