"Jericho," the post-apocalyptic CBS drama whose devoted fans rallied to save it from cancellation, has met its end.

The show failed to increase its audience and will air its final episode Tuesday, the network said Friday.

"Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement. "We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try."

I can't believe they cancelled it again! Argh!!! To be honest, I don't think CBS gave the show a chance the 2nd season, they brought it back mid-season in a time slot against American Idol.

Well crap. I had a feeling that it would happen. I agree with the above poster that said that CBS didnt really give it a shot. They brought it back but gave it a crappy time slot. We only got to watch it because of TIVO.

I wish that when they ended shows like this they would wrap them up and put an end to the story.

According to our local paper, they had already created 2 versions of this final episode, 1 for if the show was coming back and a different one if it was going to be the last show ever - so I'm guessing it will give some sort of "ending"

We LOVE this show! I'm so dissapointed. I can't understand why it can't make it, it has interesting charcters, several story lines going, plus there is nothing else like it on TV.
Another show that I'm wondering about is "Cane"...liked it to!
I do know that they are showing Jericho reruns on the Sci-Fi channel
Now I'll never know about Stanley and Mimi...Dale, good boy turned gangster.....and I'll miss looking at Jake I like Hawkins too...I saw him interviewed once and he is British!

I can't believe they cancelled it either. It was one show on TV that actually makes you think! Unlike so many other shows that turn your brain to mindless mush (Survivor, Big Brother, etc.) I wrote the network about it. I'm hoping if enough people complain, they'll bring it back (maybe in a different time slot would help, too). I've read where some other networks were looking at it. The Sci-Fi Network is showing last year's right now.

What I can't figure out is the ending this year -- it left it to where it could come back with the start of a civil war. If it was supposed to be 'the end', I would have thought it would have ended differently.

Maybe this show was too close to the truth.

Interesting to read. Who knows, he may be right. With everything going on in the United States, it wouldn't surprise me. Like I said, Jericho did cause people to actually 'think'. Perhaps CBS didn't want that!
