McDonough Georgia anyone??

Hi there,
We are moving into our new home in McDonough Georgia( a suburb outside of Atlanta). Does anyone live in that area? I would love to find out about some yummy individual owned restaurants or any other fun things there. I have 2 kids, what would they really like? Sorry for all the questions, was hoping someone here knows something about the area. TIA!!!
Andrea

I live about an hour south of McDonough so I don't really know about restaurants, but there is plenty to do in Atlanta. There's the Atlanta Zoo, Aquarium, Coca Cola Museum, American Girl Store and tons of shopping

Where are you moving from?

I did find this though:

McDonough Hospitality & Tourism Bureau » Downtown Dining on the Square

McDonough Hospitality & Tourism Bureau » Dining

I live east of Atlanta but spend ALOT of my time in the city. (That is the reason we moved here!!!)
If you are sports fans then you are in luck. You will be able to catch just about any sport that there is here. Braves (MLB), Hawks (NBA), Thrashers(NHL), Falcons(NFL), Silverbacks(SOCCER), Georgia Force(AFL), Dream (WNBA), Georgia Tech (College) and twice a year NASCAR. I am sure I am forgetting someone.
There is a TON of shopping to be done here. My favorite area is Atlantic Station which is outdoor and IKEA is near. The city continues to grow so there IS traffice BUT for all the advantages that a city has it is worth it.
Many concerts come here as well as the circus in February.
Stone Mountain is a fun day.
For children there is what the above poster put plus the Wrens Nest, The Varisty. Atlanta History Center, Imagine It Childrens Museum, Six Flags and MY FAVORITE SUMMER LOCATION White Water Water Park!!!!!
Also, there is the MLK Center and Jimmy Carter Library.
Any questions that you have feel free to email me (gotjenks@bellsouth.net)

I have a friend that lives there and will let you know about McDonough specific restaurants etc. The area is growning and changing so fast.
There are too many fun things to do and great places to eat in Atlanta to possibly list here. Tell us what sort of things you like.

Welcome you will love this area.
