What did you get your Son or Daughter for a Confirmation Gift? Just curious as my daughter receives this weekend and I am brain frozen lately.

Congratulations! My son is being Confirmed next week. He took the name Moses so I found this funny tshirt online that says "let my people go" in Hebrew. He has learned a little Hebrew for fun so this will be funny. I got a beautiful statue of Mary for my good friends daughter who is in my DSs class.

I ended up giving my daughter money. I will see to it that she puts her money together and buys something special. Funny about the t-shirt. I found a t-shirt for my daughter (from her brothers) that had in big letters FBI, then below it said Firm Believer in Jesus.

I had mentioned the same type of thing in the High School Graduation gift ideas---

1. you can go useful, such as money or gift certificates or something fun or practical. This type of gift will be quickly enjoyed and quickly forgotten, which is also fine.

2. you can get something as a remembrance, such as a good watch, a nice piece of jewelry such as a pearl ring or necklace, a locket, a charm bracelet....all ideas for a girl except for the watch. (Jewelry doesn't have to be expensive to be nice....Macy's has amazing sales and coupons constantly.) This way they have the item as a permanent remembrance.

3. you can get something religious such as a teen study bible, some good teen christian books--fiction or non-fiction, or a cross in silver or gold.

Traditionally it has been something with religious symbolism. For my confirmation I received gifts like a gold crucifix and of course cash is always good.

But something with some sort of spiritual symbolism would be the best. Doesn't have to be "religious" per se just maybe inspiring.
