If the outlet tags read" outlet" on them, then generally, the quality is less. I'm not sure about Gymboree but I know Old Navy outlet clothes have "outlet" on the inside labels and are made for the outlet store. They are not retail store overruns or clearance. Buying from gymboree.com is like buying from the mall store. Quality is there. Personally, I don't shop gymbo stores unless it's a clearance of 60% off. Their prices are much too high.

The B&M Gymboree and the on-line Gymboree are the exact same items. You can buy on-line and return/exchange at the B&M. You can earn Gymbucks at either and redeem them at either.

The Gymboree outlet is a completely different line of clothing. I have not seen them IRL to know the quality, but I assume it is not as good as the regular Gymboree. I think the tags do say 'outlet'. Items from the outlet can not be returned or exchanged at regular Gyboree stores.

The company that owns Gymboree also owns Crazy 8 and Janie & Jack. You can think of it kind of like Banana Republic/GAP/Old Navy, but just for kids. If I am not mistaken, Janie & Jack is the high end, Gymboree is in the middle (like GAP) and Crazy 8 is the value line (like Old Navy).
