The large legos type toys and Elefun(SP?). It is a great game that was a fav of ours that the elephants nose blew up and little butterfies went all about for the child to catch. (If you go with this make sure to include batteries) Ride on Little Tykes tractor is great too.

My grandson loved those big rubber life-like dinosaurs. And any books with dinosaurs pictures. There are some great ones out there. But the rubber ones got tucked under an arm and carried everywhere. If not this year then next, for sure. I was just over at a friend of my daughter's last weekend and her son, age three had them everywhere including some very large stick on the wall dinos, that he put up himself.

Wooden puzzles (plus for with dinos or trucks). Little People are great to, since kids can play with them for a long time (depending on what you want to spend they have little car set for $10, up to the ramps around garage). How about a collection of outdoor stuff? (sidewalk caulk, bubbles, a ball etc.) Those things are so enjoyed and used up quickly, I can do a basket for as little as $10 or as much as $25.

I second the vote for Little People! They are the best!! My DS played with them for YEARS (many years!). He got his first set (Noah's Ark) for his 1st birthday and we kept adding on here and there. Before long, he had the whole town and most of the pieces. Little people are great for hours of playtime!

I big box of different size balls. A friend told me that before I had children and I thought she was just trying to tell me something that would not cost me much. Then I had my own children and found that a bunch of balls is something they would have loved too. A big, big empty box is a lot of fun too. lol
