Sign up now to be a Secret Buddy. PM your NAZ and gift suggestions to me. Sign ups will end next weekend (April 5th), and the package has to be sent by the end of April. Packages should be worth $10, plus postage. I will pick your buddy for you through a randomizer.

Also, I'm thinking about coordinating a children's secret buddy exchange. I really need help with that, though. If you are interested in joining for your child, please post on this thread. Also, I need suggestions like dollar amounts, and age ranges. If we have enough interest, I'll get one rolling.

I want to do it this time!!!! My kids would LOVE to do it if you have enough for a kid's exchange. My girls are 7(8 in July) and 9(10 in June). I would say for kids, about the same price range $5 or $10 and I think any age range would be ok. I don't know if you want to pair up like ages or does it matter? To me, I think my kids would love to shop for any one, any age, boy or girl. They seriously wouldn't care, it would just be fun to pick out things for a secret buddy. I think the parents(or kids, if they're old enough) could do just like we do, post their likes and dislikes, favorite things.
Anyway, I'll PM you my address and let me know about the kids exchange!

For inquiring minds, the gift should be WORTH at least $10. As most of us know, there are always some over-acheivers...but there's nothing wrong with that.

BTW, we're doing really well with sign ups. You guys are real suckers for playing games, aren't you? Also, the exchange for kids is looking good. I'll probably wait a few weeks to start that one, so I don't end up on over-load.

QUESTION - Is this supposed to be really secret --- I never tell the person I send my box to who it is from - I even use a sharpie to cross my name off the return address label. But...so many people tell their buddy who they are.

So do we tell or not?

Yep. I do. And I will be most unhappy if I can't thank my Buddy properly, so I want to know who sent mine as well.

I agree. It's fun anticipating the arriving package and ripping it open to find out who sent it. It seems you get to know that person just a little bit by what they sent. And I too like to thank the person that sent it.
I think I would be disappointed if I didn't know who sent it.

Personally, I would like to know who sent it so as to personally thank her. Last time I was told the person chose to remain nameless and I felt bad not thanking her personally. I loved my box! Just my 2 cents.

I believe the "secret" part came from the first Buddy exchange we had where we had the buddy for 4 months. We sent a package to that same buddy once each month and during that time it remained a secret, then with the last package, we revealed who we were. After that, the exchange changed to a one time thing.
I tell who I am and definitely want to know who sent me the package. It wouldn't be as much fun at all for me to not know. Also, I think it makes a connection with another "cafe-er" when you know...

Once again, I'm running a day late and a dollar short!

The list has been finalized and I'll be getting your names out to you this evening.
