Stainless Steel Woes

I have a refrigerator with a stainless steel front and it appears to have splattered grease spots on the front. I've tried to clean it with everything to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestion?

I have bought the stainless steel wipes from best buy. I usually wipe down the fridge with soap and water then dry it and then wipe down with the wipes. Works great for me. Good luck!

I seocnd this. This house is so old (born in 1925) there were things that would not come out with anything other than the magic erasers.

I also found this page of alternative methods

Cleaning Stainless Steel FAQs | DoItYourself.com

Olive Oil: Rub stainless steel sinks with olive oil to remove streaks.
Vinegar: To clean and polish stainless steel, simply moisten a cloth with undiluted white or cider vinegar and wipe clean. Can also be used to remove heat stains on stainless steel cutlery.
Club Soda: Remove streaks or heat stains from stainless steel by rubbing with club soda.

Thanks for posting this !! I absolutely hate our stainless steel sink. I wish we had the money to get new countertops and one of those sinks that sits inside the counter top instead of on top if that makes any sense.

Try Bar Keepers Friend. I use this to polish and keep my stainless steel cookware looking new. Bought it at Kmart. It should work the same with stainless appliances. Read instructions throughly first since heavy scrubbing and scrubbing against the grain can mar the surface.

thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm off to the store to get the erasers first (and I even have a coupon) . Truthfully I wouldn't take a truckload of this stainless stuff if someone would give it to me. Fortunately I have one of corian sinks and countertops that pazpuella is talking about and absolutely love it. It needs tender loving care but I would do it all over again and it is perfect for the bathroom as well. Thanks again for all the hints!

I would NOT use the eraser on the fridge! They do scratch some surfaces!! This is right off the website:

Attention: Test first on a well lit, inconspicuous spot with light pressure. Let the spot dry to see if it is modified or damaged. Not recommended for the following surfaces: High Gloss, Polished, Dark, Brushed, Satin, Faux, Bare/Polished Wood, or Stainless Steel. If using for dishwashing, rinse dishes thoroughly. Do not use with chlorine bleach, on vehicle body, or post-factory tinted glass.

Yikes...sorry for the recommendation! I had no idea it scratches stainless. I use it on just about everything around here and especially at work for cleaning the white Mac laptops.

Odd as it may sound, I would try baby oil or mineral oil.

Additionally, I would NOT use a magic eraser. I WOULD consider calling the manufacturer or looking at their site for advice,

I agree with the Barkeepers Friend.

It's actually used in many restuarants that have stainless steel appliances.
