My towels are mismatched. My sheets are in sets. I would love to get some sort of organizational divider so no matter who folds or pulls a towel, the towels always stay neat. Our linen closets are for the most part organized, sheets on the top 2 or 3 shelves and the towels on the rest.

Mine... has sheets and towels in it, they're folded and stacked, might not be the neatest, but... Mine has sheets and towels in it, folded and stacked. What else do you want?!? ![]() I used to fold the sheets and pillowcases and put them inside one pillowcase, so it was one whole package, and would stack. But the kids would mess that all up, looking for pillowcases or something ![]() I have some towels that really need to go, over 10 years old and still give off lint in the dryer (is that normal?). Bought them at Sears, they've been pretty good towels but there are holes in some now. Lasted much longer than the two we got for Christmas that are Bed Bath & Beyond towels. I also just bought a multi-colored package of thin washcloths (my favorite kind) from Wal Mart, so those are stacked up lying flat. I have to keep that closet closed or my baby will go pull stuff off the lower shelves ![]() I try to keep some quilts and throw blankets clean and folded in there but my 7 year old won't let them get that far before she claims whatever I've just washed And uses it once or twice and abandons it. |

We keep most towels in our closet, since it's off the bathroom we use more. The actual linen closet has some towels and sheets, shampoo and toothpaste on the middle shelves, board games at the very top, and bottled water at the very bottom, since that's directly on the tile floor. There are usually a bunch of toy mice boy cat has flicked under there too. I'm not sure he's figured out why they don't return on their own.

Mine are neat... we have two. From top to bottom -- there are four shelves: Top shelf holds new pillows (for guests), oldie but goodie extra pillows (laundered). Next shelf hold comforters, extra blankets, electric blankets off-season -- all in the zip-up blanket bags. Next shelf holds sheets folded into sets with the pillowcases folded into the middle. Extras that are not part of a set are stacked to the side. Bottom shelf holds bath towels on the right, hand towels on the right and washcloths in the front. I say 'neat' because everything is basically where it belongs and CLEAN! |

My is pretty much a mess. Mostly because I try to fit too much into it. Everything is shoved in and forced to fit! I have sheet sets, lots of towels, my sewing kit, baskets (1 filled with hair things, 1 with first aid stuff, 1 with OTC meds) , used to keep light bulbs in there but they got moved to the basement..., The vaporizer is in there, and a small vaccum, hmmm? What else? I don't know, just way too much stuff. Definately a project to get to.

Since my so called "linen closet" is the closet in the hallway by the bathroom, there's alot of stuff in there. Top three shelves are linens, lots of towels (mismatched), sheets and pillowcases, washcloths, and dishtowels. Then I have a shelf that keeps the 12 packs of soda, which get put into the soda thing in the fridge (or supposed to..but mostly they just grab a can from the closet). This shelf also keeps the bags of animal treats. Then is a shelf that has my sewing basket, some vases in the back, the iron, and the cat foot container. On the floor of this closet is my sewing machine, (should put this in the basement, as I don't use it very often), and the dog food container, and some plastic bags I reuse for the garbage are shoved in the corner. What a mess. Now I know I have to clean it out.

we don't have a linen closet so I can really say I do buy matching towels but that said, the sets get mismatched when they get dirty and then reused. I keep the towels in the bathroom since we have deep drawers in our vanity to hold them. Sheets are bought in sets. Each room has 2 sets of sheets. I don't really fold them because they never look right LOL I try to fold them and the flat and fitted sheets go into one of the pillowcases and then that sits on a shelf in the closet of the room they are for. Extra mismatched sheets and pillowcases are in a hall closet (along with games, my breadmaker, gift items and blankets) for crafts, garage sales (to lay stuff out on), covering items up...whatever we need them for.

I guess you could call our bathroom closets linen closets. I keep sheets in the bedrooms. In the upstairs bathroom closet are towels, not really matched as I buy any pretty pastel colors. That closet also holds shampoos, soaps, toilet paper, first aid, etc. etc. and some things on the top shelf that I haven't seen in years!!! The downstairs closet is smaller but contains about the same things, just less. The towels in there are matched sets in greens and blues, printed and plain. The upstairs one does need a good cleaning out!!! ANY VOLUNTEERS?

If you looked in mine you would see.....toys! I converted my linen closet to a toy closet about 5 years ago - DS has too many toys and games to fit in his own walk-in closet. I now keep my sheets and blankets in the closet of the room they are used in. Towels are under the sinks in the bathrooms. Any extra sheets and blankets are in a space bag at the bottom of the "toy" closet.

We don't have a linen closet except upstairs in the kids bathroom. They don't use the shower or tub up there (they use the one in the master bath), so we keep extra toilet paper, shampoo, etc. in there and it is very neat. I keep the kids extra sheets and blankets in the bottom drawer of their dressers. For the master bath, we keep the towels in the master closet. Except for the kid print ones (Lion King, Thomas the Tank Engine, Tigger, etc.), they all match and are neatly folded and kept in basekets. The extra set of sheets is kept in the bottom of the TV armoire in the master bedroom. It's folded as neatly as possible (how are you supposed to neatly fold a kind size fitted sheet anyway!??!!!). Fortunately, our linen closet is pretty big and since it's in the bathroom, it does double duty. The top shelf has extra blankets and pillows. Next shelf down holds all the sheets, stacked according to size: one for queen, one for twin, and one for double behind the others Next shelf down has all my makeup and supplies and the first aid basket. Next shelf down is DH's stuff along with the kids' toothpaste, cups and dd#1 hair supplies (she has lots of hair stuff) Next shelf down holds the towels, neatly stacked by size Next shelf down is only half as deep as all the others and holds matching bins; one for ds' bath supplies, one for extra first aid stuff, and one for feminine "supplies". The floor has the stack of TP and the scale. I'm pretty anal about keeping it tidy.

If you looked in my linen closet you would see my "fantasy" house because this one has no linen closet! Only one closet in the whole house. I keep linens around the house in different places. Towels in the bathroom blankets in bedroom closet, extra sheets and pillowcases on shelf in laundry room and our sheets in bathroom cupboard. Sigh I would love a nice linen closet.

We have two, and both are very organized. Sheets are folded neatly, and kept in sets (fitted, flat and pillow cases all together). Blankets are folded neatly into thirds and kept on a seperate shelf, along with table cloths. The very top shelf, where we rarely go, has the heavy comforters and such, as well at holiday linens that don't get used very often. I have several colors of towels, some blue, some white, yellow, green. I have sets of 2 for each color, as we hang 2 towels in each bathroom. My towels are all in good shape, I hate towels that are ratty looking. I'm particular and keep the linen closets(and the rest of the house, too) very orderly.

My cat. I don't have a linen closet in my house but when I lived at home there was one and my cat Ed would curl up in there and sleep all the time. You'd open the door to get something and he'd look at you and give a little meow. I buy my sheets in sets and I still have the complete sets for all the patterns/colors I have. My towels/washcloths are a host of colors, each bought when I happen upon a good clearance sale. I have about 8 towels, 2-3 sets of flannel sheets, 2 sets of t-shirt sheets and heaven only knows how many washcoths. Oh, and a couple beach towels from various mail in offers. All this for just me(I'm sure I have less than $100 invested in the whole lot). My towels and washcloths live on a rack above my toilet, the sheets are in a cupboard in the bedroom. Ed can't get to any of them.
