Christmas Shopping anyone???

I've noticed a lot of stores are having great clearance sales now, so what better time to start a Christmas Shopping Thread???

Every year I vow to "be done" long before Christmas gets here. Seems this year I may actually outdo myself.

How is your shopping coming along???

I came across some flannel PJs at Kohl's for 90% off.....how's a girl to resist that??? So, I picked up a few pairs for gifts. I also got a few perfume and body wash/pouf sets at 90% off at CVS.

I've been shopping the deals too. I've got the easy gifts out of the way...most of the Adult family members. But none of the kids yet. So much will change by Christmas, if I get the toy they're "into" now, it'll be old news by Christmas.

I try to be done with everyone outside the immediate family by Halloween.

I actually started with the last big Bath And Body Works sale! It 's going to come in really handy come next December. Let's all keep each other updated about our progress.

I just can't get into ANY shopping when the weather is so nice outside... Sad, huh?

I miss out on a lot of opportunities because I want to be outside as much as possible before the summer heat hits and my life is ruled by my kids' being out of school.

Maybe after I read your posts, I'll get myself out to shop a bit.

I have my eye out all year for things on sale or things that I know a certain person would like but I am not making a point of going out Christmas shopping.

That's me also. I've already picked up a few items on clearance/sale for gifts throughout the year like birthdays, father's day and christmas but I don't specifically shop for just Christmas..YET!

I buy for Christmas, birthdays, etc. year round whenever I find something that is a great deal and I have the person in mind to give it to. Right now I am "working " hard on house warming gifts for my daughter since they will be moving in the fall.

Heck no!!! Geez, I still have 2 presents to get out from last Christmas! I do pick up things throughout the year though. I just hope I can find them when it comes time to send them out!
I can't tell you how many times I did that! so now I keep a little spiral notebook and jot down what I got and where I put it! it really helps so I don't buy double gifts!
sorry some how I edited to ad my comment instead of replying squeak

Nope!

I used to do that when the girls were little, but then I got worried about what if someone wanted to exchange it or didn't like it and then couldn't return it because the receipt was too old or they'd see what I paid for it!

I just wait usually until after Thanksgiving and get lists, ideas and go then.

I worry about that, too, so I don't usually get anything too "unusual" I guess you could say. There are still the extra gifts I get as the Holidays get closer, but, I really hope to have the bulk of things done real early this year.

>>> Heck no!!! Geez, I still have 2 presents to get out from last Christmas! <<<

How timely. I just, tonight, finally got ready for DH to take to the PO tomorrow, 6 pkgs of belated Christmas and b'day gifts, some of them that have sitting around here for almost 2 years!
MIL died 2 years ago, and she was the best at always sending out cards and gift boxes so they arrived *on time*, something I have been woefully remiss in accomplishing. I vowed earlier today to do better seeing as I am the one who everyone expects to do the stuff mil used to do.
I can't help but think she is smiling down on me for finally getting these 6 boxes shipped out. Or they *will be* when DH does it. He's great at actually mailing the stuff out if I have things ready for him to take to the PO. I am not so good at actually getting boxes to the PO, even though our closest one is only 1 mile away.
Ahhh, the strengths and weaknesses that even after many years of marriage are one of those blessings that can never be too trivially appreciated! ;-)

I started shopping right after Christmas, I got Christmas dish towels, potholders and candles for several people. Then when the winter clearance started I got scarves and gloves for .20-.30 each. Also some winter pj's and robes for $1-$2 ans slippers for under $1. I am off to a good start for Christmas this year.

I hit the Target 75% off toy sales and really stocked up there, so I have my neices and nephews done, along with a few items for my kids. I don't have any adult presents yet. Luckily our list of ppl that we exchange gifts w/ is pretty short.

This post scared me half to death I thought what month is this? didn't we just have that?

All I can say right now is eeewwwwww, I am enjoying spring weather too much to even think that far ahead.

Of course I have spent my last 3 Christmas's in Florida which wasn't bad but this year we will be staying home, I will probably regret the decision made by my husband and myself after we do stay at home but it will make us appreciate it better the next year.

I start my chirstmas shopping on January 1st and don't stop until Christmas eve. My closet is about half full of net years gits. I don't go out looking for stuff, but as I do find things I buy them and put them back. I have pj's for everyone, lots of jewelry items for my dds and nieces. I have a variety of toys for the grandkids (my kids are too old for toys). I have a good variety of bath and makeup sets. Near November I go through it all, decide who gets what and write down what I have to buy to fill in the gaps. The one exception is my kids each get one big gift that I decide upon closer to christmas to make sure it is something they still want.
