Would you get your teeth whitened in the middle of the mall?

Was at the mall yesterday, when I saw this new booth. They had dental chairs set up with people getting their teeth whitened in the middle of the mall while shoppers were watching.

I was thinking to myself, first off how clean are their tools they are using? Do you really want people gawking at you while they contort your lips and stick some ultra violet tool up your mouth? Then I thought, guess they are no different than the massage people, hair straightener people, etc... But still, I know for me and my family, I would want the whitening to occur in the privacy of the dental office and the office adhere to the state rules on cleanliness and tool sterilization and proper whitening procedures.

Do they have these whitening booths in your mall? How do you feel about whitening your teeth in the mall?

Our mall just started this also. I've watch a few people have it done. Not sure I"m brave enough to do it in the middle of the mall with everyone watching. It is cheap though...only like $99

hmmmm...I've thought it over and decided that - yes, for $99 I'd do it (great price) But I would go to a Mall that was much further away than "My Mall" - so hopefully no one I know would see me...that would be awkward.

Nope...there are some things that should be left to a real professional. I would only do this at my dentist. I don't want some 16 yr old mall rat putting peroxide on my teeth and then forgetting about me because she's texting with her friends......LOL

Funny! These techs providing this service aren't certified in any way

That's how I feel, too.

The two things I won't "go cheap" on are my eyes and my teeth.

I would only do it if I were being paid a couple hundred bucks to do it.

No, and I really hate those sales pitch things in the mall. DH will stop and talk, me.....nope, they get the hand and the "I'm not interested, thank you" line, and I keep on walking.

No. I would only have my dentist do it. I talked it over with them a couple years ago and opted not to do it at all.

DH taught me how to handle that situation very well. When they ask you, "Can I ask you a question?, smile politely and say, "Wow! That was a great question!" and keep on walking. I've done it numerous times and their jaws are on the floor.

Our local home/garden show was this weekend. I didn't go, but the article in the paper said the teeth whitening booth was the busiest, with a lengthy wait. Not something I would think of doing..

We were at Sears today looking at mens clothes and some gal came up to sell us home improvements!

So you aren't safe from those pitches in the stores either!

NOPE, .no dental work for me in the mall!
