Does your freecycle moderator do this?

I put some bags of girls clothing on the other day and the moderator was the first to reply. Fine I gave them to her, she does a lot of work putting this together, she was first, etc. Now I just put some boys clothes on and again as soon as she posted it and approved the message she emailed me right after and asked to have them! I sort of don't think that's very fair, she doesn't give anyone else a chance to get anything?

I know I don't HAVE to give to her, but she must know she is first. And would she know if other people have emailed me about them or doesn't it go through her?

What do you think? Just give them to her?

One of the local freecycles mods here replies for everything that I have ever posted. Someone told me she sells it at the flea market or on ebay.

Our Freecycle is so slow at posting...I have already gotten rid of it on Craigslist before it gets posted on Freecycle. I stopped using ours.

I hope not! And if she got anything from me believe me I already looked into listing it!

I went to a party last weekend and I really noticed how there are some needy families right in our backyard, so I signed up for the town freecycle (there are members from all over, but I was hoping for more local people). I have so much STUFF and I really wanted to spread it out to those who really need it, that was my intention, not like it's working.

I don't care for our freecycle site. More than anything it's people asking for stuff.

Just add in your post that anyone who responds you'll throw their name in a hat and draw a name by such and such time. think you told me before are you closer to the southern shore or Philly?

Our Freecycle group was getting pretty bad. I am no longer a member on there, and take all my stuff to a local charitable organization. I have seen them throw lots of stuff in the dumpsters, tho, and I don't like to see that..... I know some people drop off "anything",but, it still bothers me. I also take things to the homeless shelter.

I like the idea of drawing a name, if you do post on FreeCycle. BTW, there was a lot of flea marketing and such going on in our group, too.

If you know where these needy people in your town live, could you anonymously drop a bag or two on there door step with a nice note, not signing your name, of course. That way, at least you know it got to them.
