My grandmother used to call them "liver spots"....I have no idea why other than the fact that maybe they are brown?? At any rate, I had something similar on my face but a bit larger and the dermatologist used a nitrogen spray and froze it off essentially. It didn't disappear immediately, but faded over time. I would say if they are a concern for you, a trip to the derm. might be in order.

I have 3 "sun spots" and I hate them. I am very fair so they stand out. Funny thing is, my doctor (and what I have read) said that they are caused from sun damage. I shouldn't have any. I really don't go out in the sun and when I do, it's SPF over 30. I have tried creams and lotions claiming to diminish the appearance...most recently and currently Olay Reginerist but honestly, they do nothing. I have yet to go to a dermatologist because of the $$$. I just use a good concealer and try to cover them up. I too would love to know how to diminish them and/or how to stop them.

I have had about 5 dark "liver" type spots on my face since my early 20's. I recently purchased AMBI at the store and you are supposed to use it for 3 months. It is supposed to help bleach away the spots. It doesn't bother my skin (which is sensitive) and my DH can already tella diference. Best thing is that it only cost around 5.xx.

I don't have any products for you to try, but, a friend of mine told me that glycerin fades your hair color. We were discussing different hair dye and the color on the boxes vs. what you wind up with, and how it fades over time, etc, etc. She told me that glycerin in your shampoo, I think she said, fades the color. Hmmmm.....so, today, cruising thru CVS I stumbled onto the skin care section and started reading the labels of the "anti ageing" things (looked at Neutrogena and Ambi) the ones that say they "even skin tone". Well, sure enuf. they have glycerin in them. So.........you may want to buy a bottle of glycerin and apply that for a few months?? I think that would be the cheaper way to start out. Also, as a general rule of thumb for everyone, apply a high SPF broad spectrum sun block.
