I pretty much knew Alli was going to win - percentage-wise she was ahead of everyone. I just wish she had not been so cocky. They said Paul was "ill" - but knowing Paul, he went home and back to his old life-style and put the weight back on and did not want to show up lookiing like a REAL biggest loser. |

I remember when Paul left: his little after bio said he was hospitalized and showed in in the hospital. He mentioned that he gained some of the weight back while in the hospital and I thought he was going to be limited in what he could do. They said he was "ill" so I imagine it has something to do with the hospitalization. I may be wrong and above poster may be right? It was nice to see a woman win but I agree, she was really cocky. The best part for me was seeing Bernie beat Mark for the $100K

The one thing I don't get...Every diet or weight loss plan tells you that 1-2 pounds a week is a good goal, more than that is not advised. Some of these folks lost 100+ in 4 months, how can that be healthy? I think quite a few of the contestants were cocky. Mark, Allie, Roger and Dan all come to mind. I think Kelly, even though she was a whiner, looked fantastic and wish she could have won. She just plugged along every single week. No one thought she would make it to the finals. Now if they could just get rid of the host. She bites.

I think it must be MORE than a shock to the contestants to finally have this new look, and a new sense of accompishment. They have probably all been viewed by strangers with a little pity for most of their lives, or maybe they felt invisible. Now they realize that they look exactly like the "typical" people that they used to envy. That must feel really weird! Along with working on themselves so intensely for so many months, I can't imagine that there wouldn't be an "after-affect" - they probably have turned extremely regimented as well as self-absorbed. All of this must translate to a major adjustment phase in the "real world" - I hope they are all mentally equipped for that. I heard one girl say that she had been going to the gym AT LEAST twice a day since she had gotten home. I hope they have good therapists and trainers for their new real life to keep them balanced. |

I heard that "at least 2 times a day" as well...thought I must have heard it wrong but I guess not. I can't imagine going to the gym more than once a day....I have a life to lead besides working out for goodness sake

Yeah, and I assume that's why they don't have all that awful "hanging" skin even though they've lost such a huge amount of weight in such a short period of time. I've seen so many gastric bypass patients on "Big Medicine" (and on Dr. Phil!) who have so much excess skin that you can see it through their clothes I've even seen patients who have said that they regret having the surgery because the excess "hanging" skin is worse than how they looked before the surgery.

I imagine some of them have the hanging skin. Jay had pretty decent *man boobs* for lack of a better term when he started. The more weight he lost, the more he kept his shirt on. I thought I would see the skin under his shirts. They take off their shirts at the beginning but I'm guessing that they keep the shirts on (and let the girls have longer shirts) to help hide the extra skin. I wonder if they have to sign something saying they won't have the skin removed before the finale because losing the extra skin to surgery could be extra weight as well....not quite fair
