I can not imagine a school allowed some of those. My niece actually did the "Music and Sex" one. It was really interesting..she had to call it Gender Preference in Music or something like that.

We had one this year called "does alcohol effect pregnancy" where a girl soaked a chicken egg in beer... She proudly proclaimed that her mom gave her the idea to "try" it and see if the egg changed. I just shook my head.

Elementary Science Fair here this week too.... Ugh!

One project that caught my eye as my kiddo was setting up right next to it was
Comparing Restaurant Ice to That Restaurant's Toilet Water in petri dishes... whoa...luckliy I know the kid and his mother so he "disclosed" the REAL Identity of Restaurant A, Restaurant B, and Restaurant C, one of which I will probably NEVER order a drink from again! ...

I love this kid's work.. he comes up with the neatest ideas... He compared sun block on hot dogs last year using a heat lamp. That was a 2nd Place winner....

We're traveling on the date of the next level "Regional" competition so we didn't push for First or Second Place this time around.. we just needed to get the Science/Lab Grade and the Oral Presentation Grade as well. Knowing we couldn't commit to attend that one if we won, we chose easy peazy projects.

Do "Wii" Have a Winner? (asking the question - Do playing certain gaming systems have a different effect on your blood pressure. Compared Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS LITE, GameCube, Sony Playstation 2 and our Wii system)

Will eating your Breakfast Cereal make you an IRON man? (extracting the metal (iron) out of 5 different cereals)- Fun results and it was fun pulverizing cereals in the blender to make the slurry.
