Am I supposed to tip an installer for playsets?

We have two guys here now installing our swing/playset.
I put out cold drinks for them, but wanted to see if I am to tip them or not?

That's a hard one - Some people tip everyone, some almost no one - I tip installers if they go out of their way for some reason.

We just had our entire furnace and AC unit replaced and the guys actually cut out a piece of the floor (when it looks like the drain pan had over flowed) and replaced it. I tipped them $20 and told them to have lunch on me. If they had just come in and installed the unit I probably would not have tipped them.

I used Creative Playthings and did not tip mine. As far as I was concerned (right or wrong) they came and did the job (delivery and set up) that I paid them to do. As the above poster said - if they did something over and above I might have. I also offered them cold drinks.

I was taught to tip anyone who performs a service for you and if they come in my home I tip them (unless they were disresepctful or did a shoddy job) and I usually feed them and I always offer them a drink.

I don't know if that's just the Italian way. That's the way my family taught me.
