HELP Need gift idea

I need a gift idea for a co-worker's son's first communion. I am not catholic so we will probably not be attending the mass, but I was wondering what kind of gift to get. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cash is always a great gift
It doesn't have to be relidious in nature- you can always him a gift card to a book store or a savings bond is a great gift

Since this is not a child you are close to I would think something like a gift card to a bookstore would be nice or you could make a donation in his name to a charity (you could call his church and ask the church secretary for ideas). I believe he'll receive his Book of Common Prayer at his confirmation and people who are close to him (parents, grandparents) are likely to gift him with a Bible, crucifix, etc.

I'm Catholic...I've had three of my kids make their first communion...Family and close friends always get rosaries, crosses, bibles, etc...They are nice, but you only need so many of them. I think that $10 in a card would be much appreciated. ~Lisa
