Well I heard on the radio news that comes on hourly that the direct deposits would go out on Monday.

The Associated Press: Bush says rebates going out Monday should help economy

(I'll be checking my online banking more than usual LOL)

We were going to buy a travel trailer now it looks like we'll need it just to sustain

Sad that two people in the richest country in the world can't buy gas and food and pay their bills and take a good vacation. My husband's OT has been cut and they have cracked down on people clocking and starting working early which used to give him an extra 30-45 minutes for every working day.
My hours have been cut.
Well I know this money is not free but thank goodness for it right now.

Hey I have an idea how about one every month until gas and food prices go down and available jobs and pay go up?

We haven't got ours yet.According to bfs last SSN# digits and that he gets it direct deposit we should get it next week.So much for boosting the economy around here though. The gas company just raised budgets up a $100.We got our bill today saying our $94 month will go up to $194.00 a month! So much for money going into the economy.Gas company wants it ALL!

I think you will be getting a rebate. My understanding is that is a "stimulus" rebate, and ll you have to do is have earned at least $3K and you should get $300 per person (so $600 for a married couple fiing jointly) plus $300 for each child under 17 years old. Could be wrong.....please if someone on this board knows differently, please post and let us both know.

Facts about the 2008 Stimulus Payments
"Eligibility for the stimulus payment is subject to maximum income limits. The payment, including the basic amount and the amount for qualifying children, will be reduced by 5 percent of the amount of income in excess of $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 for those with a Married Filing Jointly filing status."

You can use the IRS Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator at the link below to see if you qualify.

Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator - Welcome to the Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator

You will need information from your 2007 tax form. You fill in amounts from the different lines from your form and it will tell you what your refund will be if you get one.

Totally agree with you on this! Is it really too much to expect a rebate of geesh, much less than 5% of what we actually paid in. Screw that!

I know, I know....count ourselves lucky that we have the income......

I will be looking for mine all week. Sigh I used to be able to do a great big shopping twice a month that I felt so proud about and made me feel so secure. Now it costs me so much for gas and the basic nesseccities that I will proabably use a big part of it just to stock up and pay off bills.
Oh well with the gas the way it is we couldn't afford to take our usual trip to Ca this year anyway. For vacation I'll just go outside in my bathing suit and watch the neighbors cringe and crash their cars when they see me. LOL

I have no idea why I got mine that early. I looked at my account online Friday night to do my checkbook and it wasn't there. When I got up Saturday morning and looked again, it was there. The last 2 digits of my husbands SS# put us in the very first group to get the money which was supposed to be May 2 (they deposit on Fridays) so 1 week early would be April 25th. That's my guess but I don't really know why.

I found this link on MyCoupons.

***Now they are saying everything has been moved up by 1 week.
There are even some news articles saying that most of the direct deposits would be made by May 2. Paper checks should start around May 9

The best you can do is check your bank account every few days if you get direct deposit.

Now I am just a wee bit nervous that some have already received theirs, because both mine and dh's ss ends with 0x, and I would expect to be one of the first ones but nothing yet..things always end up getting screwed up for us.

I checked this morning and no deposit. Hubby's last two digits are 14, so we are supposed to get it this week. I was hoping earlier than Friday. I don't know why I care since it's already spent. We bought a Sleep Number bed and we'll use our stimulus rebate to pay it off and any extra will go towards our Disney trip.

If you copied this from the news website, they've got their wording totally wrong. The first round is not checks, it's direct deposits.

If you used turbotax and had your filing fees taken out of your refund, you'll get a paper check. I'm so dissapointed because I was counting on the money May 9th and now I won't even get the check mailed until the end of May

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. It's obvious our economy is in a slowdown. Fortunately, we recognized the signs early and took action. I signed an economic growth package that will provide tax rebates to millions of American families and workers to boost consumer spending.

On Monday, the Treasury Department will begin delivering the first of these tax rebates by direct deposit. During the first week alone nearly 7.7 million Americans will receive their tax rebates electronically. Then on May 9th, the IRS will begin mailing checks to millions more across America.

By this summer, the Treasury Department expects to have sent rebates to about 130 million American households. These rebates will provide eligible Americans with payments of up to $600 a person, $1,200 for couples, and $300 per child.

If you've already filed your income tax return your rebate is on the way. Even if you don't owe any income taxes you may still be eligible for a check, but you need to file a form with the IRS. And it's not too late to do so. Now, you can find out information as to how to proceed by calling your local IRS office, or go to the IRS website.

We want to make sure everyone who's eligible for a check gets one on a timely basis. This money is going to help Americans offset the high prices we're seeing at the gas pump and at the grocery store, and it will also give our economy a boost to help us pull out of this economic slowdown.

I'm pleased that the Treasury Department has worked quickly to get the money into the hands of the American people. Starting Monday, the effects of the stimulus will begin to reach millions of households across our country

I did find this news article..keep in mind things change alot with how the IRS is handling things. So you still might get it earlier than you think.

Questions & Answers On Stimulus Checks - NewsChannel 9 WSYR

According to link above:
"What If I Filed My Return Online Through Turbo Tax?
If you file and get your tax return through the mail, that's how you'll get your rebate check. If you chose direct deposit, your money will appear in your bank account in the coming months.

That’s not true if you're one of the people who prepared their taxes on line through the site Turbo Tax and chose to have the preparation fee taken out of your return.

When you do that, the IRS sends your refund check to Turbo Tax’s bank, they take out their share and then deposit the rest into your bank account.

If you did it that way, instead of paying for the prep fee separately with a credit card, your stimulus check will be mailed to you."

TT probably doesn't want a bunch of ticked off customers so they don't post it. Many have called the IRS to confirm this though.

That makes no sense since you've already paid your fees the first time around! If you chose direct deposit before, that's how it should come this time.
We used Tax cut but used our CC to pay the fees , thank goodness.

We used Turbo Tax and used a CC to pay for fees too. Hopefully we get the check soon. My Dh's last #'s are 0X but it has not yet been deposited in the bank. Oh well it doesn't really matter it'll get here when it gets here.

Don't feel bad -- we're not getting one either.

I called the irs yesterday and if you got your refund on one of the emerald cards from H&R BLOCK you will receive a paper check in the mail. I thankfully never went to H&R block and just had it deposited in to our account. No refund as of this morning tho.

No refund here either, and DH's social ends in 11. I was really hoping it would be in there today. We didn't mail ours out til April 15th, so maybe that's why. We did do auto deposit though, so keeping my fingers crossed!

Yea we probably won't get ours til next week anyway. I was kinda hoping it would be here sooner, but then I figured it would just be gone faster anyway..LOL.

Filed my tax return the 3rd week of Jan, had my refund direct deposited and my SS# ends in 03 but haven't recieved anything yet. Was hoping it would be there either yesterday or today as I want to make a purchase of an item that is on sale until Wed.
