Smile Any experience with Tegretol & ADHD?

My DS, 13, was just diagnosed with ADHD. This was after a couple of years of me not letting him be tested. I was of the mind set that he was just being a boy. Honestly, that is still what I believe. But with all the teacher "nagging" I decided to have him tested on my own. Not through anything to do with the school. I have decided to go along with the 2 doc's and see what happens for the next 2 - 3 months.

I'm not finding a lot online about Tegretol being used for ADHD. So I'm searching for personal experience.

Thanks,
Laura

hmmmm...I didn't know Tegretol was used for ADHD. DH tried it for his OCD/Bipolar, but he was allergic to it!

While I know you say you're working w/ 2 doctors, it isn't clear if one or both of them are providing counseling/talk therapy. If they aren't I would also suggest that as it will give him ways to some or maybe better coping mechanisms.

Both doctors are talking (they are together in one office). One is a psychiatrist and one is a psychologist.

We first saw the psychologist then he wanted us to talk to the psychiatrist. Next we see the psychologist again then the psychiatrist. Right now the appointments are every two weeks between seeing each one.
