Just got a call from my son's cardiologist and his the medicine he takes for his heart has been recalled. If you are taking Digoxin please contact your pharmacist or cardiologist. Evidently each tablet has a much larger dose of medicine in it than what it should be and they have had several deaths due to this problem. I called Walmart and confirmed that yes it has been recalled and I am supposed to take the bottle of medicine back into them. However, they basically said that the medicine that was being given out to replace this (which is Lanoxin) is in high demand due to the recall. They have none and can't get it from the distributor. She basically said "good luck with finding the Lanoxin and if you find a pharmacy that has it we will glady transfer your prescription there". That doesn't help me much.....and his cardiologist is obviously out of the office for the weekend....now what do I do?????? Not to mention that my son started spring training for football today and I am worried to death since I don't know the condition of his heart now......ugh...what a way to start a weekend!!

I would call the service and get them to call in RX for something else. DH takes Tambacor which I believe is pretty much for the same thing?

You could also call around to different pharmacies and try to find what you need, you'll only need a few pills to get you through anyway.
