Unhappy Do you feel like your tax rebate couldn't get here fast enough?

I know there are some are needing money for doctor bills and stuff like that, I secretly keep hoping they will somehow mail ours early even if it is paper check. It would make all the difference right now.

I took my DD to the doctor for an ear infection a couple of days ago and there were only 5 people in the doctors office, I looked at the receptionist and asked her where everyone was and she said it has been like that. She said the only thing they can figure out is no one has any money to go to the doctor That place is usually pretty busy and especially with the elderly and all of their check ups.

Between gas prices, groceries going up and other stuff it is really sad right now.

I'd like it to get here sooner, but I guess it will get here when it gets here. My cousin is graduating from College this Saturday and is getting married next Saturday, and I honestly don't know if I'll be able to afford the gas to get there since gas hit 3.89 here yesterday.

It's starting to get really scary.

Isn't it funny how everything is going up in price (everything that we all use every day, at any rate) at the same time as the timeframe of release of the stimulus checks??????

This wouldn't be price gouging at its finest, now would it?

hmmm....

Yeah I think it is funny how also the city I live in has had all kinds of road construction, detours and closings, I told hubby I think they did all at once on purpose so people have to travel more just so they will have to purchase more gas finding an alternate route. What a waste.

I was just crying about this last night I tend to get emotional about things I think are my fault.

We are having major money issues right now and to find out we won't get our check when we thought is just killin me. Of course, I understand why and I have in no way placed all my hopes on that little amount of money. For once in my life I got smart and didn't put everything off thinking we could pay it with that money. Hallelujah! LOL! But to be honest we are still having trouble, just the same.

Anyway lemme shutup before I get blabbery again LOL. Just wanted to post and say you're defiantely not alone...

Of course I do, because I'm not getting one. I'm not on the receiving end of this wealth distribution scheme. Reading and hearing about it constantly is really getting annoying....JMHO!

I'm right there with you -- enough talking about how this is going to turn around the economy!!! I'm also not thrilled about stores offering specials if you 'cash' your check with them. I'd love to get in on the deals, but I have no check to cash -- I guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

Then why do you guys continue to open, read, and respond to threads that discuss it?

That is what I wondered I wasn't trying to be an A=hole by starting this thread and I assumed that if people aren't interested they would skip on to the next one.

I still don't understand WHY we even got this. I know, to stimulate the economy, but, I guess I don't understand the way they figured out who will get the money. We did get it, and a hefty chunk. It is sitting in our savings account, waiting for life to slow down a bit before we even think of what to do with it.

The funny thing is, when we file taxes, DH gets a lot of pay that is not taxed, and not included in his income, so we fall into a lower tax bracket. Yet, when we fill out the free lunch forms and everything else, we have to include all of this income. It would be nice if everyone were on the same page with this stuff, but, then again, we may not have gotten the "stimulus" money if they were. I don't get it....and I'm SOOOOOOO tired, don't even want to try and figure it out.

I'm looking forward spending it! I recently took up tennis again. I am buying a tennis racket, shoes and lessons. It is nice to get unexpected money. I am glad that it is helping people that really need it.

Ours is just going to transfer from one account to another, so I am not too overly anxious.

We are using ours to put a big dent in DH's truck payment. As soon as it is paid off we will have an extra $250 to put towards paying off credit cards!!

We got ours and are going to save it. Times are getting hard and my DH works in the entertainment industry, and that is the first thing people will cut when money is tight. So, we will hang on to it as back up.

My youngest is moving up to weapons level in his self defense class which is costly at $275 for the weapons package.

Oldest will probably get around $275 to budget out and spend as he wishes this summer. Hopefully, he'll spend it wisely but it will be *his* money and so I'll keep my mouth shut (for the most part!).

So, we'll see what is left and DH and I will split and either apply to a mini-vacation for us or go on a mini-spending-spree?!

We do not have direct deposit and so we're looking at mid-June (I think?)... Does anyone have the latest revised schedule on when these are going out?

Someone sent me this email (below)...It's so true...

although my $ isnt going to any of that. Mine will be spent on groceries & hopefully get bills caught back up for a change. Yeah I'm with you on the $$ Mine can't come fast enough...my account hasn't been this low for many many years :0(

The federal government is sending each and every one of us (not quite) a $600
rebate. If we spend it at Walmart, the money will go to China . If we
spend it on gasoline, the money will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a
computer it will go to India . If we purchase fruit and vegetables it
will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala . If we purchase a good car, it
will go to Japan . If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan . and
none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep the
money here at home is to buy prostitutes, beer and tattoos since
these are the only products still produced in the USA . Thank you for
your help and please support the US .

by my husbands ss we were supposed to have it by today but it isnt there yet.
but then we also had direct deposit where irs took thier money/HRblock took thiers that way too i didnt pay up front.
my husband was unemployeed for about 2weeks he was self emp. electrician and all the big jobs are going to large companies and we couldnt make it on the small jobs that started coming only every once in awhile.
this was 2 weeks ago still waiting on his first unemployment check to come but he has found a job now so we no longer need unemployment but that one week.
anyways i got way off topic.yes the check would be nice if it would come like they say.

Not quite is right. We didn't get one. We make too much money and you should see the taxes we pay. This country is so screwed up. We paid $40,000 JUST in state taxes last year (that isn't federal tax). I won't even say what we paid into those losers.
