Suave works for me. Tried the expensive stuff when we lived in TN (like Dove), didn't work for anything. So I started with the cheapest stuff, then thought I would move up the chain until I found one that worked. I stopped at Suave.

Anything but Dove works for me. Sauve is really good and if you use your coupons/sales wisely it will be free. I'm using Degree that I got target clearence with a coupon.

I use Certain Dry at night and then rotate between Secret, Suave and Certain Dry Solid for daytime. I have horrid sweating problems and if I don't use Certain Dry at night...nothing will work. If I don't rotate my daytime stuff, they stop working too.

Go to Dollar Tree and buy a bottle of milk of magnesia. Dab some of that under your arms -- sounds ridiculous, but it works better for me than any deodorant I've used in years.

Here's where I learned about it:

I have not used deodorant in over 15 yrs. It's completely unnatural (in my opinion). I don't smell (and I do work out). I feel perfectly fine and normal. Try it. The first month or so you will feel weird and you will feel like you are oversweating but then your body gets back to normal and you will be fine.

I am clean, I don't smell and people are surprised to find out they picture someone who doesn't wear it to to be dirty, messy, lazy, and smelly. Not the case.

I use Almay ....I use to use Soft~n~Dri for over a ten, because it was the only deodorant that didn't make me break out in hives. Then about 8 months ago, I started breaking out from Soft~n~Dri to.....after two months of buying easily 60 dollars of deodorant, trying to find one that doesn't make me break out.......I found Almay.

I've been using the Dove Ultimate Clear for awhile. It works better for me than the original Dove. I use the unscented type for sensitive skin.

I was watching Oprah a few weeks ago, I think it was Earth Day. She had Julia Roberts on there, and she (Julia Roberts) said she does not wear deodorant.

I've used Ban roll on for years and it works great. You just have to put it on and wait a few minutes before you put on your shirt so it can dry.

My bff doesn't wear deoderant either, hasn't for a long long time. I never knew she didn't wear it till a few years ago when we took a girls only trip to Vegas, she told me that she never wears it. I was surprised but couldn't tell at all.

I use a mineral stick called Crystal that you wet with water and then apply. It costs about $5.00 at Walgreens. It last well over a year, and does not contain aluminum. It's in the deodorant section usually on the very top or very bottom shelf. It is wonderful!!!

I have super sensitive skin and this stuff does not bother it at all. Most deodorants I can not use. You can also find it at some health food type stores.

is it anti-persperant too? I don't smell but has over active sweat glands. My doc told me the only thing that would better than what I am doing now would be to have botox injections under my arms. Apparently botox stops sweat AND wrinkles. That would cost about $3K every 6 months and insurance won't cover it. I haven't won the lottery so uh, I don't think so!

I got in a hurry the other night and forgot to put any on but I never noticed the difference.
I did use it after that tho.

Arm and Hammer Baking Soda works very well as a deoderant.
The downside is that you apply it with your hands and can be a little messy.

But it works!

Secret Platinum works the best for me. I buy the gel type, so it doesn't show up on my clothes.

Dove, because other things tend to make me break out. Either cucumber or unscented, because Dove can go way overboard on fragrance. Then again, I'm not a super sweaty person.

Thanks for all of the replys so far. I tried the new Dove and it didn't work for me. Now I am trying the Secret Platinum. It didn't work too well today but I'll give it a try for a week or so. Maybe it's just too humid here in Dallas lately.

Am I the only one who wears "Teen Spirit?" - I am addicted to those sweet smells! I will use Lady's Speed Stick if I have to (same company), but "Teen Spirit" is my choice.

Before that, I used to use "Mitchum" - that was the best stuff - and I was a real sweaty girl in my 20's - not so much after I had children.

I don't use it either except for during that time of month and I don't feel like taking shower.Thats the only time I ever "stink" and thats only if I haven't taken a shower in a couple days.I do think not everyone could not use deodorant as I think some people sweat more and have more odors than others.I just use whatever samples I have laying around.Anything works for me.

I have been unhappy with the results of most deodorants since I still sweat with them. I just recently started using Dove Clinical Strength and have noticed a huge difference.

This is a question for all of you who said that you don't smell. Don't we get used to our own scent so we don't know if we stink or not? Same with house smells. The nose adapts to the smell. So are you saying that you don't mind your scent or that you don't smell bad to others? LOL

My mom has never worn deodorant... she just thinks she doesn't smell. Ahem. She does a lot of physical work as a potter and loves to eat garlic -- quite a combo. We love her.

I personally use whatever we get with coupons... I really like Degree if nothing else.

Yes, the Crystal stick is an anti-persperant too. You want to make sure that you get the stick not the roll on. The roll on doesn't work as well. At Walgreens you will find it on the very top or very bottom shelf in the deodorant section. It's a purple container. You have to wet it and then apply the stick to your underarm.

It only costs about $5.00 and last for over a year. It does not burn when you apply it. I am overweight and I have hot flashes so I tend to sweat too. I really swear by this stuff. You can apply this to different parts of your body like feet, etc. too. For $5.00, give it a try. It's much cheaper than Botox.

I've got lots of friends buying it now. They like their teens to use it too.

Funny, I was going to post and ask the same question. I am having trouble with deodorants itching me like crazy. It's to the point where after I get out of the shower, I put on anti itch cream, let dry ,then deodorant. I have spent a small fortune on trying new brands. Dove, I like, and isn't too itchy. That is my most recent one. Secret Clinical I love, but it does not like me at all, Almay hypoallergenic, Ban, just to name a few. I will try that Crystal and Milk of magnesia.

I don't smell a lot, just a little, so I don't need to put on much. Don't sweat much either. Thanks for the suggestions.

I know that you are wearing way too much perfume if you can smell it!
They say your nose gets used to it and you don't smell it.

So maybe body odors are the same?

I use Dove deodorant.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I just bought a little stick of this the other day in Kroger...I never even noticed it before. After only a few days, I have to say that this stuff is AMAZING. I sweat very badly (especially when I'm nervous or stressed). I even had the doctor write me a prescription for DrySol. That only broke me out and caused me to itch under my arms. It was expensive too! The only thing I don't like about Crystal is that it has no scent. I like to smell nice. After I applied it, I sprayed some Secret on. So far, so good! I highly recommend this. ~Lisa

I'm so glad that you like the Crystal, Lisa!! It is such a good price, very gentle and works great. And it really last you about a year.

Trust me I don't smell. The people around me are not that polite. I am told when I have lipstick on my teeth, when something is tucked or untucked, when I look bloaty and for sure when I smell! I do smell after doing an hour of Pilates especially when it's hot out. But I shower and for the most part even when I am a little sweaty rest assured I don't smell. The only exception is if I ate something strong the night before then depending on the amount and strength it might be coming out of my pores. But when people use deodorant and eat garlic for example to me they smell like deodorant with garlic on it.

Thank you for posting about this. I remember seeing donnaquilts post from earlier in the thread, but forgot about it. I even work at Walgreens, so I will definitely look into this. When I'm doing work outside, I swear, I wouldn't go around my worst enemy, lol.

Thanks again donnaquilt and CaddyLisa !!!

I got a Sauve stick for 99c some time back from Target. It is very nice. The deo sprays in USA are so costly compared to what I can get in India with awesome fragrance.

I'm finding myself slowly weening off deo. I only put some on now before appointments...like dr, lawyer and MAYBE before going shopping.. but if I am at home and no where to go.. no deo. It worries me stopping my glands from sweating. It isn't natural.. I figure within a year I will be totally off deo.

In the meantime.. I am using Ban now. I was using Arm & Hammer brand.. but it was soooooo liquidy that it evaporated in the bottle within the month.

From Thecrystal.com website- under it's FAQ:

Will this Reduce my Perspiration?
These deodorants are just that - deodorants. They are not anti-perspirants. Your body will still be allowed to expel toxins naturally through perspiration; you simply won't have any of the accompanying odors.

Crystal works very well though. I really don't seem to sweat where I apply it. I understand that it is not an antipersperant but I swear by the stuff!!

It's funny how different products or even NO products work for each of us as individuals. I can't go with out something under my arms, as some people can. Most products I can't use because they make me itch. We are all just different to some degree.

It's nice to hear what works, what doesn't and maybe hear about a product that you didn't know existed -- and then find what works for you!!

Hugs

Suave here, too. I tried something different years ago and found myself breaking out. I went back to Suave and don't plan on changing again! The price is right, too!

I sweat like crazy, so I use Certain Dry,I only use it once a week. Works great for me, no sweat stain :-)

Yeah I know sweating is normal but its embrassing to be dressed nice and have sweat stain under your arms

I like the clear gel one that Gilette makes. Its a silver and blue container, goes on without any white residue etc. Its made for men but the scent is pretty low-key and works well for me.
