Tomorrow (May 10) is the Letter Carrier's Stamp Out Hunger Day! As a letter carrier I love to work on this day and see the generosity of my customers! Please leave your donation next to your mail box Stamp Out Hunger!

I got the notice but no bag. I don't use/have the plastic bags from the store anymore. I wonder if my mail carrier will leave me a bag if I leave him a note today. I hate to just leave stuff sitting on the porch in no bag tomorrow, but we always leave stuff out.

This is the first year that we delivered bags, looks like they will be put to good use seeing all the food I picked up a day early.
Plenty of people leave food unbagged in their mail box. If you live where the latter carrier drives this will be no problem. If they walk he/she should be carrying a bag. If it is ALOT of food you could help out by bringing it to their vehicle. Thank You

I left my bag of stuff out and my carrier didn't pick it up! I got my mail, and figured he would be back for it at the end of the route or something. Nope, it was still there at 8PM last night. I finally brought it back in.

We are apparently either a training route or we just don't have a regular mail person. We have a new carrier every week or so. I've also noticed when I do carrier pickup for my packages it's a 50/50 if they get picked up or not.

Yesterday was absolutely incredible. I had the day off so me and my girls went and volunteered to pick up food. In 4 hours we loaded our trailblazer 4 times. I kept running out of thank you notes. At the dock they couldn't keep up with all the food comming in. All the veteren carriers were blown away by the amounts.

Darn, I was out of town that day. We do not get mail delivered so I didn't get to the post office that day...

I thought yesterday's haul was larger than usual as well. People were very generous, unfortunately picked up alot of expired/ open items that are of course not useable and add quite a bit of unnecessary work and time to our day. Some loser sent in 4 huge shopping bags full of open vitamins, supplements, weight-loss pills etc- all kinds of crap. We don't have special bags here, or thank-you notes.
My whole family as well as several of DD's friends were at my PO all afternoon unloading the trucks and sorting the food for the food banks. As always, it is quite an experience.
