he was ordered to make sure she did something, my son got in trouble and didnt complete what he was suppose to do for the police station and guess where i dragged his butt the day it was due, completed or not. He assumed everyone would let him slid by and I explained that this was NOT like a piece of homework he could just take a zero on and go on with his life. I dont think the dad should get jail for it especially when pay checks are being gobbled up on a tank of gas she should have to do something cause she's the one that didnt go to school and stuff in the first place

He was court ordered to do something and he failed at it. Did they think the judge was kidding?

Just wrong wrong wrong on so many levels. This man needs to work to support his family and nothing is being accomplished by jailing him. Just because a court/judge orders something doesn't make it right. Let the 18 y.o. daughter (a parent herself) get her life together, for both her sake and her child's.

The man should of followed the courts order, and he should be punished for not doing it. But being sent to jail for 1/2 a year is WAY over the top. Jail should be a punishment for criminals, not bad judgment. He made a bad judgment not to oversee his daughter getting a GED.....his punishment should fit the crime. If I was the judge, I would order him to community service.....helping and tutoring other young adults preparing for the GED.

I don't agree with the jail time. The father could reinforce the daughter to study, but there's no guarantee that she will pass GED examination. Since she is now of legal age, the judge should be focused on her.

So wrong!! Alot of kids I know would not do it just for the fact to get thier parents off thier back if they knew it was dad that was going to get the punishment. They should make this girl take responsiblity for her actions. What is that teaching her?

Nope, I don't agree with it at all. The daughter should have been thrown in jail before the father. She is an adult, and was probably almost an adult when the order was put into place. Why should it be dad's fault if she wants to throw her life away? At some point she is going to have to learn to be accountable for her actions or face the consequences. Even the daughter stated that she thought he should have gotten probabtion instead of jail . This will only serve to teach her that someone else will always be responsible for the problems in her life.
