Smile Thread to call attention to craz4u3 and her amazing Mother's Day gift

I was so touched by this post on another thread about mother's day plans that I wanted to make sure others are more likely to see it. Amazing! Congratulations, and Happy Mother's Day, craz4u3. I hope your son keeps taking those babysteps.

craz4u3

I am going to have the best Mother's Day of all. Last Friday, my oldest son was released from the hospital after 3 very long and difficult months. He was hit by a car on February 10th, and had been hospitalized ever since. He was in a coma for 2 of the 3 months. Throughout that time, I never left his side except to come home to sleep for a few hours each day. So today, we're going to have a quiet day at home with him and I couldn't be happier. He still has a long way to go in his recovery, but we'll take it a day at a time. Remember to always count your blessings, and be grateful that your children are here. I came horribly close to losing one, and am so fortunate that I didn't. Happy Mother's Day all!

You know, this totally touched my heart.

It is so true, and really puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

Craz4u3, you are truly, truly blessed. What a great day for you!

This post definitely brings reality back to me. The fact that her son is home with her and recovering is a miracle! What a beautiful Mother's Day gift, one that's priceless.

That is great news about her son. I so agree with what she said about counting your blessings. You never know if something horrible will happen. I thank God all the time for blessing me with my two boys. I came close to losing a son too (complications after a surgery) but after another surgery he made it though.

I am so touched, Devinmom, at your throughtfulness! When my son's accident first happened back in February, I had posted a thread about it asking for prayers. Obviously, you all came through because he really is a miracle. Yesterday's post was my first since the original thread because I was at the hospital all day every day. The local paper did a story on him the other day. They had heard about him through his college newspaper and wanted to do a followup. Here's the link:

Recovery of Post's Mare 'a true miracle' -- -- Newsday.com

Again, thank you all for your prayers. Please keep him in your prayers as we still have a ways to go.

Thank you all once again! It really was the best mother's day. I actually cooked dinner myself but didn't mind at all. It was just so wonderful to be finally all together at home. My son still has a long road ahead, but we'll just take it a day at a time.
