Great books/ authors to read?

I love to read escape every day life
I'm looking for a new author/book to read. What are you reading now - do you have any great books to recommend? Authors I like are Philippa Gregory, Diana Gabaldon, John Saul, Dean Koontz and Patricia Cornwell.

A friend had mentioned the Twilight series, but I see that is in the young adult section of the library so I'm not so sure on it.

Any suggestions would be welcome - thanks!

Chris

Fern Michaels, Susan Wiggs, Kristin Hannah, Sheryl Woods are all great.

I just finished James Patterson's Sundays at Tiffanys and it was awesome!

I read strictly for entertainment - I don't want to have to think too hard about what I'm reading. I love anything by Stuart Woods or Lisa Scottoline. And John Grisham.

I read alot of mysteries too. Right now I've got 2 books by Kathy Reichs. The TV show bones is based on her books. Lisa Scottoline is really good too. James Patterson. If you like medical thrillers, try Robin Cook or Michael Palmer. I just read several of their books. I love to read too and generally read 1 book a week.

The best book I read in the past three years is "The Terror" by Dan Simmons....It is not what you think, the plot revolves around two ships (one named the Terror) and artic explotation in the 1800's. It was fascinating, and written from different points of view in each chapter

I like Robin Carr. I just recently finished her Virgin River series. AWESOME. It's romance, but set in a small town and she does tons of character development . Robyn Carr - Virgin River Series

FYI - The YA section has TONS of great books. I'm heavily into fantasy and getting most of my books from there. The writers tend to write better knowing their audience is more fickle, lol. I always see tons of adults in that section.

Anything by Karen Kingsbury or Francine Rivers. There's a 15 book series by Kingsbury that is awesome-I laughed and I cried throughout the series.
