I hope Dolly sues the heck out of him. Of all the people to do this to, you'd think he'd be smart enough not to do something so rotten to someone with such a squeaky clean personna as Dolly.

Howard Stern is Howard Stern. This is the stuff he lives for. He's done this before with other authors and audio books. The man thrives on shock value. It is what it is.

He has his audience, but it sure isn't me! I don't even think it's his foul/vulgar language that bothers me the most - it's that he can be so cruel. Why pick on such innocent people as those with special needs, disabilities, and purely innocent people? Just for a cheap laugh...

Basically, someone just took Dolly's words and spliced them all up -- made up to be in response to questions about her book, but very obscene. You can tell as soon as you listen that she didn't utter any of the sentences, that they are just words pulled randomly and placed together to say really nasty stuff.

I like Dolly. Period. And no matter what she has said, done, whatever, she would never be on the same playing field as Howard Stern. Regardless. He is a piece of trash.

I was happy it bombed here as well. I kept hearing people say it was the same as Bob and Tom, and, while they have their moments, they are no where near the same as Howard Stern.

I was kind of curious too. It seems like the media will slam all over any entertainer that even blinks the wrong way. I've never heard anything about Dolly Parton. Even Kenny Rogers, who along with Burt Reynolds was mentioned in that clip - has had publicity about his drinking. Certainly not deserving of the crap he just got drug into.

I wonder if Burt Reynolds and Kenny Rogers can sue for defamation of character? It was HOR-RI-BLE was "Dolly was saying" about them. Just GROSS.

My funny bone encompasses so many forms, types, and variations of humor. Most times, I can see something funny in what most don't. But Good Lord above, this was just rotten.

I figure most people by now know what a fool Stern is, but still. You CAN go too far - WAY too far - with hateful jokes.

I'm with Ballmom. There must be a real market for the Howard Stern type of "comedy" - but why does he have to go after people (such as Dolly, and Christopher Reeves, once he suffered that accident) - why be so mean-spirited? Can't they use their "humor" on those in the industry who are like-minded (vile and rude) instead of the more harmless celebrities?

I have never understood the appeal of HS. Many men have argued in defense of him with me, but I still don't get it. And I have yet to hear a female's perspective on the entertainment value of HS.

That is true and interesting.....but remember, his trustt "sidekick" is Robin who was laughing and egging him on the whole time. I have never sat through a HS show and have just seen clips here and there. But this IS just trash.

I want to know what Dolly did for someone to think bad about her also. Howard Stern is so disgusting. I have never heard anything bad about Dolly though.

You dont see Dolly flashing her private goods to the paps when she enter/leaves a car, or dui every month, or wrecking a car every month, I hardly hear anything about her unless she's releasing a cd or book

I really wish you would respond as to why you say that "she's far from a lady". I don't think I've ever heard anything that would justify your remark.

She is a lady and an incredible philanthropist from her Imagination Library that provides books to kids from birth to age 5 to college scholarships and so much more.

Perhaps she is just stating her OPINION, you know like you did when you started this thread.

I think people are curious as to why she feels that way, as it seems not too many people have heard anything bad at all about Dolly.

Just making a comment or two and leaving it at that, does leave people wondering the "why" of it. Most times people seem to tell why they feel the way they do about a certain thing.
