Need suggestions on internet providers

Good morning. I have my internet through ATT, and, along with my landline service, it's costing me $80 a month. I seldom use the landline, and I only have it because I could hear better on my hardline than my cell. Now, however, I've bought a special device for my cell that works as an amplifier...in stereo! So...all I need now is just the internet. How do I do this without a landline? I have Direct TV. I hope this isn't too stupid of a question! I'm just trying to cut down my bills! Thanks--Marilou

I have ATT yahoo. Phone and internet, DSL, which is very fast, I downgraded from comcast and it is the same speed. it costs me 20.00 a month for both. Call them and see what they can do for you.
We do not use our landline for outgoing calls, just incomming, and my husband work. We have 5 cell hones in our house. I think our landline is 10.00 a month . But I think I have what they call a bundle , (phone and internet). If we use the landline for outgoing calls, we pay by the minute. So I tell everyone, use your cell no landline. I more or less have it for 911 only.

I have ATT also. I called to cancel my landline and they gave me a deal. Which was my dsl $40 something a month and for $1 they just left my landline connected. We can't make long distance calls and only have limited local calling. Which doesn't matter anyway because we all use our cells. As a matter of fact I turned the ringer off to the landline so now it's just there for 911 (if needed) and the boys use it when they get there cells taken away.

Otherwise, you can still keep your dsl with ATT just tell them you want Stand Alone DSL. I think it adds like $5 to your bill.

Can you tell me more about this? I really like my Tracfone but I have trouble sometimes hearing on it even with the volume as high as it will go. That's why we keep our landline since DH can't hear on the Tracfone at all.
