If I'm on antibiotics, I will eat yogurt, or drink flaky, yogurt-like drinks (kefir). I've been okay, so I'd say they've helped, but then again, I can't remember when I last didn't do this, and I don't take antibiotics often. I give my cats yogurt, too, since they like dairy anyway, and they've had no problems when on antibiotics, though they tend to sensitive stomachs normally. I figure you can't really have a placebo effect with animals.

Activia or the new Yo Plus from Yoplait are wonderful items for helping and contain the necessary amount of probiotics, which is better for you rather than just yogurt by itself. I recommend eating one a day (you don't need more, you will just be wasting it). I have heard from so many people that have been able to go off medications just from eating Activia every day! I eat it, and I find that when I do, my stomach feels so much better, I lose weight and I don't feel as if I have that "weighted" down feeling. |
