I LOVE Trader Joe's! Sooooo many products

Their Lemondade is great
Cashew butter
Ready Made California Rolls
Chicken Sausage
Wasabi Mayo
Soy Rice crackers
General Tsao stir fry sauce...if you like it on the sweet side
Flaxseed crackers
Hummas
Soyaki sauce - an intertesting blend of soy and teryaki...wonderful

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Every time I go, I have to call my DF and my DMIL to see what they want..and they always have a list

Wine prices are fantastic
All the food is fantastic--these are just a few of my favorites:
LOVE the Greek style yogurt -- and I am not a yogurt eater
chimmichurri rice
thai gyozas
pizzas -- ham, onion and gruyere tart
tamales -- green chile and cheese OH MY GOODNESS they are good
brie -- cheap and good
coffee

I just love TJ. Our closest one is about an hour away so we only go about three times a year.

I'm in Richmond, and we will be getting one soon on the Northside....but, you won't catch me dead up in that store. It is going to be a nightmare. I will continue to visit Trader Joe's when I go down to the beach every other week.

Ohhh...and if you want something good, try the Bhool Kogi in the meat section....Korean style beef. It is unreal.

Usually their eggs are nicely priced.

They have some fantastic breads. I am so bad with names. The one we get usually has Panne in the title. Maybe Tuscan Panne. I think.

They used to have, but have not had the last two visits, a frozen veggie bag called Greens with Envy that is really good. It has asparagus, green beans, spinach, soy beans, and maybe broccoli.

Frozen edamame.

We love their Lime Chili Chicken Patties. I make a mixture of Miracle Whip, Tiger Sauce and Tabasco and put this on a bun with some lettuce.. Really good.

Orange Chicken in the freezer. It's great. Doesn't have enough sauce for us, so I make some and add it to the ones in the package.

Limeade.

Their Roasted Red Pepper soup in the carton is a staple in this house.

We recently tried and liked a jar of Satay Peanut sauce. I used it on a pound of chicken tenders that I had sauteed along with a bunch of veggies.

They have some sauces called simmer sauce. They say to add water. Don't! The flavor is much better undiluted.

Naan in the freezer section is nice when you want Indian cuisine.

Not everything has been great but they are good about taking things back that you don't like. I also find that they discontinue things and that's annoying when you have become attached to it.

We are not fans of frozen fish and the ones at TJ's are no exception. You will find things you don't like. But it's a fun place to find things to try and sometimes fall in love with.

And thanks to this posting, I now have some new items to try. Keep the ideas coming people.

I love Trader Joes. I know they had not confirmed the Hilltop location last night on the news. Personally, I think that's a very dumb location. It's hard to get in and out of there w/ all the feeder roads. I think they should put it in the new Landstown Commons shopping center-that seems to be more demographically like the location in Newport News.

I LOVE Trader Joes. I haven't had anything there I didn't love. Don't be surprised though, most people walk in the first time and say "this is it?" Once you get it though you are hooked.

One thing I discovered by accident, I love their jarred dolmas (stuffed grape leaves). When you finish them the olive oil left in the jar is fantastic. I use the left over lemon infused olive oil to marinade some chicken breasts with Italian seasoning and basil and then saute them in the oil. It is fabulous.

My DH has lost 25 lbs. by taking their Indian food pouches or Thai tuna pouches and their bowls of cooked brown rice for lunch everyday. He also love the mixed grain pilaf and jambalya (sp?) but they are a bit too hot for me.

I am addicted to their coffee.

I could go on and on.

Happy shopping. Try something new everytime you go in.

Yes, yes....they have all those healthy, good foods and good prices on wine BUT they also sell a HUGE 10 lb Ghiradelli Chocolate Bar!!! LOL

Whenever I go to AZ on vacation, I find a big chunk of chocolate on my pillow...do my sisters know me or WHAT?!? I think the large bars are just sold around Christmas - but they always had the broken up pieces when I have been there and the price was quite reasonable for such good chocolate.

Have you been to Tom Leonard's? It's nowhere near as big as TJ's and not the frozen food selection, but it's kind of the same in some ways. It's never been crowded when I've been there.

I haven't heard of Tom Leonard's. I live on the Southside and hate going up near Short Pump (but it is a necessary evil, as I love to shop). Thanks for the lead...I will check it out!

I've only been to Trader Joe's a few times, but I love it! These only appear around the holidays, but you must try the Candy Cane Joe-Joe's. They are an interesting take on the traditional sandwich cookie, with a light peppermint taste and a suprising candy cane crunch. They always sell out of these so if you like them, stock up! ~Lisa

If you buy something and like it, get back there soon and stock up, because they may well not have it next month. I love the chocolate bars, edamame (it's just soybeans, but with a little salt, they're a good snack), cheeses, candied gingers, and gorgonzola gnocchi (high fat, so stir in a pack of spinach). Oh, and the peppermint bark at Christmas is worth buying by the ton.

We like their version of Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt - better price but comparable item!!!

Also - we stocked up on these cute little cereal bars called something like "So An Apple Walked Into A Bar..." - our kids loved them! Not sure if they still sell them.

We go CRAZY about their flaxseed tortilla chips! There is something like 8 grams of protein per serving! And my kids don't think consider this anything but a junk food, so it's a win-win!

You're so lucky - we only get to Trader Joes when we go to see MIL a few hours away...

It was in the paper today, but still no confirmation on locations-I am so keeping my fingers crossed! As far as what we buy when we go-oils-cheap olive oil, truffle oils, vinegars, cheeses, gyro z-sauce, hummus, pizza dough, pastas, pasta sauce, candies, etc. Also a great place to get cheap wines-you can actually get some great bottles at $5 each or less-good for gift-giving because there are so many different labels. We don't buy a lot of meats since they are a bit pricey there, but we have tried some of the pre-seasoned meats as samples and they are delicious. Also, since the location will be a lot closer for us, we can indulge in more of the frozen foods, like the veggies, and seafoods.

I see that many of the favorites have been mentioned but i didn't see one. It is (trader joes brand) Fat Free Black Bean Dip in the jar. It is yummy with all chips, and not expensive either $1.25 a jar. Regular old fritos bean dip is three times that amount, and this dip has awesome flavor.

Hey ladies...long time, no see.

I've been busy building my business, attending school, and I moved to Yorktown. (I've also gone thru my 4th board war. )

Anyway, I go to the Newport News location, but since grocery prices are high I cut my TJ runs down, way down. I do love their economical wines, though. I think I recall a TJ fan site listing all the faves and a listing on one of the boards on Dotti's Weight Loss Zone .

Hope this helps...
