| Anybody else??
I don't know if I am just a mush-brain sentimental nit wit, but I was wondering if there are any other of the same mentality....today, while watching the parade in our town , I had to really keep myself from crying. Parades make me feel like bawling. Anyone else feel this way when they watch a patriotic parade? |

Yes, I get pretty choked up as well. But then again, I am a BIG bawl baby. It takes all I have to keep it together at my kids' programs as well. I am so not looking forward to DS's high school graduation next month. Someone please send me a pill!!!!

I am right there with all of you....and I just can't seem to clap hard enough when our veterans march by, or our volunteer firemen and women!! And I just realized that alot of the volunteers in our community are also reservists...always giving of themselves. These are people who put their life on the line for all of us. I tear up every year... |

I"m not sure. I haven't been to a parade since I was small. We don't have them in town that I know of and the only ones I remember are the Christmas ones (which I know I wouldn't cry about) and Disneyland. If there were something for the veterans, etc, I do think I would tear up. We had a soldier from our town die recently and the coverage of his funeral was gut wrenching. We had a group from Kansas come to boycott the funeral. They are a whacked out group that think God is doing all this because we allow gay people...something utterly stupid like that. We had a lot of town support and our citizens lined the streets and cemetary with flags to block the protesters...and THAT made me cry

Count me in -- I'm a big crybaby when it comes to this stuff too. My DD marched in the parade with her scout troop and it ends with a ceremony at the veteran's memorial in the cemetery -- I had to sneak out and hide in the back because I lost my dad in August and he was a veteran and I know I would lose it if I listened to the ceremony. Yeah, I thought I was a nut -- tearing up at fireworks and "Stars and Stripes Forever" and "God Bless America" which we sang at Mass on Sunday -- glad to know I'm not alone in my nuttiness!
