Anybody else??

I don't know if I am just a mush-brain sentimental nit wit, but I was wondering if there are any other of the same mentality....today, while watching the parade in our town , I had to really keep myself from crying. Parades make me feel like bawling.
Anyone else feel this way when they watch a patriotic parade?

Yes, not just yes but Hell, yes.

If you really want to get torn up, go to the airport when a troop is deploying or returning from deployment. Or a Navy pier for the same. Either one will set me to bawling like a big ol' baby girl. But I know the sacrifice that is involved in living the military lifestyle. Both for the military memeber and the family they leave behind during deployment.
And they make the choice even thought the pay sucks, there is usually little chance of "settling down" in one place for very long and it is hell on marriages and relationships.

Yes, I am proud to be American and I am very proud of our armed forces service members and their families.
Thank you.

I am right there with all of you....and I just can't seem to clap hard enough when our veterans march by, or our volunteer firemen and women!! And I just realized that alot of the volunteers in our community are also reservists...always giving of themselves.

These are people who put their life on the line for all of us. I tear up every year...

I"m not sure. I haven't been to a parade since I was small. We don't have them in town that I know of and the only ones I remember are the Christmas ones (which I know I wouldn't cry about) and Disneyland. If there were something for the veterans, etc, I do think I would tear up. We had a soldier from our town die recently and the coverage of his funeral was gut wrenching. We had a group from Kansas come to boycott the funeral. They are a whacked out group that think God is doing all this because we allow gay people...something utterly stupid like that. We had a lot of town support and our citizens lined the streets and cemetary with flags to block the protesters...and THAT made me cry

I am pathetic. I tear up at the fireworks on the 4th, Lee Greenwood's "Proud To Be An American", basically any patriotic song, I am a sap. At least I'm not alone. I just can't help it!!

Proud to be an American gives me chills everytime. I have watched deployments and when they come back and it's very tearful.

Count me in -- I'm a big crybaby when it comes to this stuff too. My DD marched in the parade with her scout troop and it ends with a ceremony at the veteran's memorial in the cemetery -- I had to sneak out and hide in the back because I lost my dad in August and he was a veteran and I know I would lose it if I listened to the ceremony. Yeah, I thought I was a nut -- tearing up at fireworks and "Stars and Stripes Forever" and "God Bless America" which we sang at Mass on Sunday -- glad to know I'm not alone in my nuttiness!
