I second the craigslist vote - we are doing the same right now. DH is restoring my old bug and he is going to get a motorcycle to drive to work. Scares me to death to think about it since our drivers around here are not the most attentive. I told him I wanted him to get a brightly colored Power Rangers suit to ride in.

I am with all iof you here. It is amazing how much gas has gone up. I am shocked each and every time I go to the pump and see what our price is, then I fall over when I see how much Diesel is!! Almost $5 a gallon for Diesel here.. the prices are going to go up even more on everything we buy. ![]() On a ligher note, when we were in Chicago Monday, we saw a Toyota Prius with a license plate that said: MPG IS 52 |

We just insured and tagged DH's bike last week. From 12 MPG in the expedition to 40+ on the bike, hopefully we can make up the price of insurance and tags and then save some to. (He has a 55 mile trip, one way, to and from work each day). Of course that all depends on weather and if his RA is OK enough to let him ride. I would say to check local papers for used rides to, as it is free to list on Craigslide, and some people list high just to see what they can get.

high MPG cars and bikes are going for well over blue book here and SUV's aren't accepted as trade generally. I'm glad you got DH a motorcycle 3 years ago and gets over 40 PG. Weather permitting (we get lots of summer storms in the afternoons), DH rides the motorcycle or bicycle (10 miles each way). He is going to look into carpooling into work the other days with a guy who lives about a mile away from us (who passes our house on the way to work).
