A Great School Fundraiser

I wanted to share with you all interested in fundraising for your school. We just held an unexpected fundraiser and it raised $5,700.00 in 3 weeks.

I wasen't planning on doing any fundraisers for our school for the rest of this year. However, one day when I went to school about Box Tops, I looked in the PTA mailbox and there was this invitation to have lunch and hear all about the Enjoy the City coupon book. I called a friend and looked at it as a free lunch and I also got a complementary book.

The Enjoy the City coupon book is like the Entertainment book. However, it has more coupons for my specific area and they were all coupons I use. I thought well if I think this book is good and I would pay $20.00 for it, then there probably is more parents out there that think like me. It had 2 for 1 on many area chain restaurants - Fuddruckers, Smokey Bones, Carvel, KFC, Arbys - just to name a few. It also has 2 for 1 on local attractions such zoo, science museum, boomers. Things that I do with my kids.

So I got on the project and in exactly 3 weeks from start to finish, the PTA made $5,700 for our school.

I googled to see if this was just for my specific are, South Florida, but they seem to be in alot of states.

Another reason I believe we did so good was because we were not competing with any other fundraisers and in the economy we still want to maintain our lifestyle, but now we can for 1/2 price and use the savings for gas. 3.99 today. Ouch!

So if any of you would like to do this fundraiser, I would highly recommend it. We split the price of the 50/50 with Enjoy the City, each teacher received a complementary copy, if a class sold 25+ books the teacher received a $50.00 bonus and our school received a $500.00 bonus for just participating. Win win situation.

Just wanted to share,
Judi

That sounds like a great fundraiser. I always buy an Entertainment book but I've never heard of the Enjoy the City coupon book. I'll pass this info to my schools for the fall.
