![]() Hmmm, I don't recall having to download a lot of add ons. There are some cases that a plug-in is needed and Firefox prompts you to download if you want. If you do, it installs and that's that. I've yet to have a problem with a plug-in. The add ons can be all sorts of things, but not required. I do have a weather add on installed. It's called Forecast Fox. There's a list of add ons at the website, with descriptions. I keep meaning to go back and see what all they have. I've used Firefox for a couple of years, it's pretty neat.

You don't need ANY addons to make it work. You'd download those if you want to be able to control your music through the bottom of your browser, or run an FTP client, or -- I'm trying to think of something that's not nerdy, but addons just let you make Firefox do things it wouldn't normally. A lot of Internet Explorer's functions are based on Firefox, it tends to be stable and secure, without being restrictive like IE 7 can be, and it's really customizable. Try it out, and if you hate it, all you have to do is uninstall it. |

I don't use IE at all. I only use Firefox. It's easier than IE I think. Download is easy and you don't need addon's (but there are some cool ones). I like the cooliris add on. It gives you a "sneak peak" at what a link will give you without you clicking it.

I like firefox. I have both IE and firefox. Mostly use firefox now, but there are some sites that just work better with IE than firefox. I don't have all the addons though. I hate all that extra toolbar stuff sites try to install on your computer.

my computer geek friend got me to try firefox several years ago because he stated you get a lot less spam with it1 and you do! I use ad-aware weekly to clean out junk I used to clean out an average of 2-3 hundred a week but since switching to fire fox its around 20 to 30! my favorite ad on is cool iris, it allows you to view a web page without opening it!

I love Firefox! I do use IE to view Netflix movies instantly and a few other things, but mostly I use Firefox. I have a couple of skins downloaded that have made it 'cute.' One is called "Scribbles" and the other is a Super Mario one that looks like this: http://www.craphound.com/images/supermarioffox.jpg If you have a favorite sports team, etc., there is probably a skin you can download for free to customize your browser. It'll make all the front-back-refresh-etc buttons look special! ![]() I also use Thunderbird for my email program and love it. |

I'm on an old Mac computer so my experiences have probably been different, but in general Firefox is pretty good. I've been having a lot of problems with it lately but that may be my old computer as much as anything. I don't remember any add-ons so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

I'm really happy with it. too. I have IE, too but rarely use it.
