UPDATE
My brother did not call me yesterday. He called my mom and she got things a little twisted. I know he was to have a biopsy and possibly a shunt put in for the chemo today. There were 2 other procedures also. 3 doctors were to be involved in the surgery/procdeure. I received this email at lunch time:

<We are heading back in about an hour. They said they were going to take a
piece of his lung because they saw a spot on the CT scan. They arent too
concerned with it but since that is a likely place for the tumor to spread
they need to be sure.>

That scares me....

So, I am waiting on a call tonight. It does not look like this will be easy. I am taking my niece and baby nephew back to their home tomorrow and staying there for a few days. They need that and my brother and sister-in-law need some more hands.

My nephew will be 3 in a week. Last week we celebtrated his birthday early. He was having a problem with his eye. It was bulging and had a severe discharge. He had seen a doctor earlier in the week and he was scheduled to have his tear duct unclogged on Monday. He had that surgery and did fairly well.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, he was still cranky, had some bloody discharge, etc. The doctor was slightly concerned there was another problem. My brother and sister-in-law kept in contact with doctor all week. Today, Brayden was still uncomfortable and not eating, so they took him to Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was admitted.

In just a few hours everything took a big change. They discovered a tumor by the early afternoon. Just an hour ago, they admitted him to the cancer unit and the doctor seems pretty confident in the diagnosis of cancer. (I don't think they throw that out there unless they are pretty sure.) They are scheduled for an MRI tomorrow and a biopsy on Tuesday. We will know more then. According to my brother, it appears to be in the sinus cavity and may be into the eye. (That was causing the bulging.) The doctor did tell my brother that it was a fast spreading type and should respond well to treatment.

Please pray for my beautiful nephew and his family. My sister-in-law is scheduled to walk in the local Relay for Life in 2 weeks. I think she will have a heavy heart then. I am frustrated that I can't go to help until Wed. (I am a teacher's aide and we have 3 days of school left. I'm not sure if I could get any days off this week. Going to try....) I'm pretty good under pressure and think I could help with my niece (5) and my other nephew (3 months.)

I will keep my fingers crossed that your school district is compassionate enough to allow you to leave for the last 3 days of the year....if your school is anything like my middle school, the last few days of the school year are more fun than anything as we know all grades have already been registered.

Oh my gosh, do you have relatives in Alabama? I could swear that I read something about this in the paper today. I think they even included a webpage where progress could be tracked. Anyways, that baby and his family will be in my prayers!! Bless them all.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, jasmom. I was so afraid you were going to mention the "C" word when you said his eye was bulging. (past experience) But, it's comforting to hear that the doctor said it should respond well to treatment. Your nephew and family will definately be in my prayers.

Ballmom, no we don't. Our family is almost completely here in Ohio and my sister-in-law has a half sister in Texas. This all happened so fast.....

Thank you all. I know school will be all fun and games the next 3 days.( especially since it is Kindergarten and these are "make-up days". We were supposed to be out last Thurs.) My little boy at school (I am a personal aide) needs me there some of the time, but I need to be with and help my family.
