Control Asthma/Eczema NATURALLY?

My son has been diagnosed with asthma. He gets sores from his eczema that are very slow to heal. We need a break from all the meds. I'm mostly concerned with the skin issues. Is there a non-medicine "something" we can put on his sores when he scratches them open and they start to ooze? Am I supposed to keep the sores moist or let them dry out? It's on the back of his knees, and his jeans rub. Help!

I wouldnt take him off any asthma meds without his Dr's blessing...I have experience with people close to me dying of asthma attacks.
I dont know much about eczema, other than my oldest DS had it as a little guy, but outgrew it. We used a prescription cream on him.

Does he like to swim? All three of my kids have excema and we have a pool, the 2 oldest (adults) say that their excema clears up, the more swimming they do, they say the chlorine helps dry it out which helps clear it up. Youngest DD hasn't had an outbreak in several years and she swims everyday in the summer and when we heat the pool in winter. My middle DD also says going to a tanning bed also helps clear it up. So I am guessing it needs to stay dry.

My dd responds extremely well to the ointment called Protopic - prescribed. We use the smallest amount and it begins to clear up very quickly. You may want to ask your Dr. about it. Fortunately hers is not near as bad as it was when she was littler.

Also, she has itchy skin allover (not necessarily dry). We use Curel right after her bath/shower. This takes care of the endless scratching during the night.
