I get some variation of their emails every day. I don't read them. They aren't scary because they are all scams. Just press delete. That's all we can do at this point.

Exactly. I don't see how anyone could think they're "scary" -- they're WAY too silly

Yep - I get them all the time too from various "governments." Apparently there are also a lot of really rich people out there whom I've never met but who have chosen me to be their heirs, too!

Dollydeal, I got the very same one last week. I read somewhere (maybe Ann Landers) where you're supposed to forward these scam e-mails to the government at spam@uce.gov . That's what I've been doing.

What's so sad is that some people actually fall for these things. Remember the pastor's wife in Tennessee who shot and killed her husband? She had fallen for one of them and had gotten them in a serious financial mess.

don't open them and they won't have the means to scare you!
I don't open anything if I do not know who sent it! even if it says it's from the government! they send all of their stuff by regular mail! the only time you get an email from them if you have made an email inquiry and ask fro a email reply and then they still will follow up with the regular mail!

I don't think they're scary. I think they're stupid and I really don't see how people fall for scams that ridiculous. I get a lot of those type of emails and I delete without opening them.

I used to forward them to our local police dept cyber crimes unit, but they would usually just respond with "yep, that's a scam". I thought maybe they'd want to research them a little, but I don't think they did, so I just delete them now, I don't forward them anymore.

It's been my experiance with the FBI that if they have business with you they will pay you a visit in person.

The FBI would not email you. They would come to your house and talk to you personally. I have several students whose parents are FBI and CIA.

If I Use Enough Capital Letters You Have To Do What I Say . . . .

We get spam at work often enough. Some of it's surprisingly amusing.
